The Big River Bandits from The UK continue to perform as a 5-piece Americana/Country Rock band but co-writers Renee Sears & Gerry Power have become much more diverse in their writing, trying smooth jazz, pop and R&B. The success of their jazz music has led them to form another band called Renee Sears & The Jazz Set, which is gaining popularity in The UK. They believe that the songs written for this band have had the most impact on the listeners on IAC and other sites, making them 'featured band of the week' in May 2011 and keeping their song 'Elle est l’étoile' at #1 in the jazz charts for over 4 weeks. The guitar version of 'These Blues' reached the semi-final in 'The New Movie Classic' competition in April 2011. Some of the songs are listed here for streaming and/or downloading. Most are available for licensing, publishing or recording by other artistes and bands with prior consent from the copyright holders. The Big River Bandits: Their unique sound is a blend of new and old style country rock, swing, rockabilly and traditional country music. They offer a refreshing new approach to country music with an exciting and exuberant live performance. Lead vocalists Renee Sears and Gerry Power, also playing lead guitar wrote the 12 original songs on their debut album, ‘The Single Life’, which has been receiving radio airplay around the world with great reviews from DJ’s and major publications such as ‘Country Music People’. They have been featured artist of the week on many local radio and internet shows and Renee has given several radio interviews. ‘High Wire’ reached number 11 in The UK’s official unsigned charts and ‘I’m Doin’ Fine’ was voted ‘Track Of The Day’ on garageband.com. Lovely playing and vocals and the mood is so light and I can see this song in a movie with people dancing. What a great scene it would be. It's a lovely song for a gig as well, people are not going to sit still, that's for sure, everyone will be clapping and moving in a beat of the music. Nadia
