Every once in a while a record comes along that reminds us why people picked up electric guitars in the first place. When done right, rock music should make you feel like you just stuck your finger in a light socket.
A chill runs down the spine and makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.
Such is the case with the debut album by Maydayground, a Nashville based three-piece band consisting of Michael Spears, bass guitar, lead vocals, Bryan Hall, guitar/vocals, and drummer Ludo Baccherini.
Michael and Bryan, friends since childhood, spent several years with best friend, Gregg Fulkerson,
in Blue Tears, a band that reached underground cult status.
The two have since departed and have teamed up with singer, songwriter Billy Falcon.
Falcon, alumni of rock's noble under-ground, (Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks) first worked with Spears and Hall on his magnificent 2003 release, ""Songs About Girls"", which Spears co-produced. Those sessions led to Michael producing Rose Falcon on her Columbia Records debut single, Up Up Up, a chart topper on Disney Radio.
The results of their current collaboration can be heard on their melodic new album, In Technicolor
Songs like If Your Lonely, Sunny and 72, and Nothing Without You, demonstrate songwriting at it's best with poetic lyrics, haunting melodies, and of course, plenty of edgy guitars. Add Michael's moody vocals and the result is an atmospheric soundscape that, after a few listens, will take up residence in your subconscious.
With the addition of drummer Ludo Baccherini, the final piece of the puzzle is in place, and Maydayground is poised to rock your world!

MAYDAY GROUND ‘IN TECHNICOLOR’ (INDEPENDENT)
High quality rockband from Nashville, USA with a CD co-produced by legendary BILLY FALCON, one of JON BON JOVI’s heroes… The band MAYDAY GROUND is playing typical American Hardrock with one foot in the 80s and another in the rockstyle as we know it today. They are just a slight bit away from the sound of bands like HINDER and BUCKCHERRY. 10 songs are on their debut CD ‘In technicolor’ and although far from really original, this record is a strong rockalbum with such catchy tunes like Nothing without You, Million Dollar You (pure T-REX), Pieces Of Me and Dear Life, some even reveal some late 90s/00s DEF LEPPARD influences (the period they dropped the 80s style!), although it more reminds me of
