The year 2010 marked two significant milestones for Return of the Horse: A long-awaited studio debut was pre-empted by the untimely and tragic death of their drummer and friend. Stunned, saddened - but committed - remaining members Izzy Stetar, Shane Lundy, and Ian Varlas launched the frustrating search for a new drummer. Finding no combination of musicianship and ambition that complemented their ...own, they decided to pursue individual projects, leaving their dreams - and a loyal fan base – unfulfilled.
Fast forward a year later – the Horse charges back on the scene with new drummer Nate Robinson and an unbridled desire to claim the rock ’n’ roll crown they have earned. Their fascinatingly random array of individual and collective influences demands that Return of the Horse must be heard: Robert Johnson, The Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath, Roky Erickson, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin are among the diverse origins of this powerfully charged sound. Muddy blues of the south, the indie stylings of the northeast and psychedelic rock influences pepper their solid musicianship and songwriting. West Virginia gives you Return of the Horse. These talented lifelong friends conquered tragedy and pain – and their listeners reap the benefits.
