Ted hails from Long Island, then Buffalo, New York, where he discovered his fondness for chicken wings and his hatred for the cold. Ted perfected his flashy guitar riffs while performing with the band, Pepperwood Greene in the Western New York Area during the late '70's. Playing mostly original songs by Ted and the other members of the band. Ted also loves playing bass guitar, harmonica into a Shure SM58, and singing in the shower, singing anywhere for that matter. Today, his instruments of choice are a red Fender Strat and a seasoned Martin D-28. Now with his new digital studio Ted is also having a great time as an engineer. His musical styles tend to run from blues to pop to country. But mostly, Ted's writing influences come from traditional music like John Prine and Steve Goodman, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, groups like The Beatles (big surprise there), the Doors, and Eric Clapton. His songs are also characterized by his mutual respect for great performing acts like Little Feat and Moody Blues. However, musical influences as diverse as Frank Zappa and The Eagles are also incorporated into many of Lehman's songwriting efforts.
Artist History
Ted Lehman has been writing & playing music for most of his life. In the seventies he fronted a band called ""Pepperwood Greene"". Based out of Buffalo NY, PG was a vehicle for songwriters to produce their music. In the 6 years that PG existed, over 25 artists and songwriters participated. Sometimes gigs were for the entire ensemble in major clubs in western NY and sometimes the group would work folk and acoustic clubs, with out drums, or bass, or other PG members, depending on the venue and the fee. At the time there were only a handful of bands playing original material in western NY. ""Pepperwood Greene"" was considered an artist's band. Most of the cover bands working the Buffalo area at that time would go see PG gigs to learn more about writing and producing original songs. After leaving Buffalo and PG, in 78 Ted moved to Atlanta and, worked alone for a number of years writing and recording demos at home. It wasn't until the mid 80's that Ted began to work with another artist again. Along with Randy Bishop they formed Lehman-Bishop Ltd. With the advent of MP3 technology and the internet LBL has been Ted's & Randy's most successful songwriting efforts to date.""With the success of LBL, I finally thought it was time to share some of my solo efforts with the on-line music community and the world."" After spending most of my life writing and recording music I find that I have a rather large archive of recorded material. Of coarse I am always working on new music and that will be posted as well as soon as it is recorded. As a songwriter first and performer and recording artist second it is my hope that other artists would like to cover these songs and add their talent and their vision to my compositions.""
Thanks for listening...

Old Friends
Where are they now? Have you ever wondered? This is the track for you.
Review: Ted Lehmans a cool seasoned singer/songwriter recording in a bluesy rock style.. I really like Old Friends.. Its beautifully messy and energy driven with a really exuberant chaotic performance, Pete Townshend style busker-bashin' acoustic and joyful ringing hooks.. Its sunshine smiling and carrying some good spirit from the 70s on its journey into the new millennium..

It's About My Life
This song is about empowerment. Get some...
Review:
Bouncy new wave style. Very, very good use of title to create a strong lyrical hook. Very nice use of musical hooks throughout this song. Sections separated very well and their distinct roles brings a power to this song that propels it forward. Engaging and captivating lyrics that are delivered with a passion that makes the narrator instantly believable. There is no bitterness just a stance that it's not about you, its about me. Live For Today
Life is short so make the most if it prople.
Well, I've been listening to so much music of every genre recorded directly to hard drive that I almost forgot what 8-track analog even sounds like! (Except for Old Blue, which qualifies as an honorary digital recording it's so clear). Ted peddles this one as "great! garage".
Now I'm going to characterize it considerably differently. Live For Today is rather more like that one track that Events Directors at family-oriented resorts wanna hear before

Old Blue
Remember the things you loved and lost? Listen to this one, it'll make ya cry.
Old Blue can be characterized with phrases like appealing, highly commercially viable, extremely well produced and recorded, wonderful performances from all instruments and vocals, and some other gushy tomes I could crank together. However, (and this really doesn't have anything to do with anything, but I figured to get it out of the way...) this is not country. Shouldn't be pitched country, shouldn't be compared to

I Want My MP3
This song has been called the Indy artist anthem by some. It was actually an attempt at self promotion back in 1999 at MP3.com. I thought maybe I was finally in the right place at the right time. What do you think? Was I?
Review:
I Want My Mp3 as protest song... Ted ranks on The Man. Sure, he could whine and bellyache like I would singing a protest song. BUT NOOOOO... Ted has to get ironic and humorous. And toss in all that compelling instrumental stuff that hallmarks his arrangements. Harmoni

The Band
What artists feel like when the aint got no band to be in... What can I say it's the blues.
Review:
My first thought when hearing this song was whoa..cool song. It has that pro quality sound to it, something all us independent home recordist try to strive for.
Ted turned in a great vocal performance, as well as some great guitar playing, supplying a generous amount of blusey guitar fills to keep guitar fans more than happy.
There are some background vocals provided by some female singers

Ready For You
This is a fun love song. The production is layered with lot's of keys, 5 part harmony vocals and a real soulfull melody. Are you ready?
Review:
Ready For You (LBL)
....is another full bodied and rich in texture song. Synths, piano, and drums mixed with harmonies and strong vocals. None of it crowds you, but washes over you like a strong running stream. Laying down the synth and piano tracks on this one must have been fun, they sure are a pleasure to listen to. They intertwine, separate and
