I am a singer songwriter based in Orange County, California. I'm originally from England. I was born in London, and spent part of my youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Aldershot in Southern England. I emigrated to the United States when I was 17 with my family. I've always loved music. My parents would bring the classic sounds of the 60's and 70's into the home. So, at an early age I was exposed to songwriters like Lennon and McCartney, Pete Townshend and The Who, Simon and Garfunkel and many more. In the late seventies, I was inspired by the great songwriters of the time, Paul Weller, Dave Wakeling and Joe Strummer and started writing songs shortly after moving to California. When I turned 25, however, I lost the hearing in my left ear and partial loss later on on my right side through a viral infection. I suffer from Tinnitus, a subtle and constant ringing in the ear which makes listening and creating music a little harder. When this happened, my passion for writing songs was gone and so I foolishly took about a 15 year break from music; however, the gift of a new Lowden acoustic guitar from my big brother Alan sparked a renewed passion for music, and since that time I've been writing and recording new songs constantly. I write and record mostly at home in my music room. I believe that music is my salvation and my only way of truly expressing how I feel. It's the only medium where I feel I can be totally honest and expressive. I do hope you enjoy listening to my songs. I'm trying to put some new demos together. Have upgraded to Prime membership and reposted some older songs for now, I do hope you enjoy listening.

7/14/2009 5:01:02 PM Hey Gary, Just dropped by to say I like "Aldershot Town" a lot - used to live not far from there for a while. Then I read your intro and though "now, there's a man after me own heart." Keep on rockin'! Warm vibes from Freiburg in Germany (by way of Dublin and Guildford...) xM

3/11/2009 2:32:08 AM Hi Gary! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I think Adele is a really super artist. It's nice to hear such a great voice get some recognition! I adore many UK artists! My family is from there, so I guess I am a bit biased! Ha ha!. Just listening to "To Let" and really enjoying the song. When I listen, I can see a movie in my head of the place you are describing!
