Lars Mars was described by one long time fan as Perfectly Imperfect. The band formed in high school, playing local dances and parties before graduating to bars (and we even played at a few). While Ron did a stint in the Army, Dennis and Glenn stormed LA. Bob and Russ worked with other bands and polished their already prodigious skills. Bob, Den and Ron formed a trio while Glenn was in the SF Bay area with one of its many fine startup bands. When Glenn returned, Russ joined the first of many iterations of Lars Mars, and that core has remained together since. Ron Carrier - Drums Bob Simpson - Guitars, keyboards, vocals Russell Marth - Guitars Dennis Marth - Bass, Guitars, keyboards, vocals Glenn Rice - Vocals, harmonica, sax Jeff Lorello - Lars Mars Emeritus We humbly present our tunes for your entertainment.NOW ALL TUNES AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AT $.50 !!!

Down Like the Rain Cold heart, cold hand, Cold tears that ran Down like the rain. Featuring Bob on lead, Glenn sings this one.
Middle of the Night What do you see in the middle of the night?
Fallin' Hard Fallin' Hard for you, Look out below, save the women and children. Fallin' Hard for you, Just like I jumped from a ten story building.
If You'd Had the Time Would things have turned out differently If You'd Had the Time?
I Wanna I wanna conversation pit; A place where we can talk and sit. Slip down in our beanbag chairs, Forget about our earthly cares.
Everything She Does She's bustling down the boulevard, Her heart sewn on her sleeve. No evidence to point to, But you know that she believes Everything she does, she does for love.
Come a Little Closer Don't be running out my door. Come a little closer, You're the woman I've been waiting for.
The Young Fool A sound, a smile, a shadow's flickering light, A moment's brief hesitation. The time it takes to watch a bird taking flight, Enough to make his mind roam, taking it home.
I Saw You Summer night, the world is humming; In the bridge lights, I see you coming. Warm mist rises from the river below.
Twenty Dollars Got Twenty Dollars, can't half buy your love....
She Was A Driver Two roads in a yellow wood Well, what was I to do? When there she stood right betwixt 'em both singing: "Baby, how do you do?"
bitstream Speed of light, speed of mind. Speed of everything, by design. I'm caught in the bitstream, can't break the chain. Everything you do, you do again and again.
Summer Sun Summer Sun warms the fields. The river flows; turns the wheel of their lives. Summer sun riding high.
That's Not Hockey Russ wrote and sang this one.
Rubber Canoe Just trying to catch myself a fish Floating out in my Rubber Canoe. Not a Golden Kayak, but it floats.
Take Me to My Home Interplanetary genocide, conquest and a broken space jockey.
DeadBeat Daddy Bob's the center of attention on this tune with his fine guitar work and lead vocals...
I'll Come Courtin' You're a velvet parasol. I'm a freshly painted wall. We know nothing, we know all.
Imani Imani come on, come on out Come on out and play. Imani, come out and play with me today. Imani, come out and play with me today I'm outside your window and I won't go away.
GetAway Clean A live rehearsal take (complete with some stray pops, buzz, hum and strained vox). Kurt Kurtley added the cool Garth Hudson organ later.
Gotta Love Somebody Some really exceptional guitar work by Russ on this tune by Jeff. Jeff sings and plays bass.
This Side of the World It's not about politics. It's not about geography or borders.. It's about a state of mind... We hope it's made your world a little better for having listened. Thanks
5/29/2011 1:50:03 PM Hey Glenn I don't visit IAC much anymore, but I wanted to drop by and thank you for the kind words you left last month. I'm still doing music, but don't participate much here. Nice to have the warmth return to CT after a bloody hell of a winter! Hope you're having a great Memorial Day weekend ... which I am having as I write. I finally had two seconds of respite to sit and just create. Be well, and talk later, bud. Kev-

11/10/2009 1:14:13 PM Thanks for the message. At the moment, I can't play ANYTHING on IAC and the slide show seems to have failed, but this could be a separate prob from the one you're having. Last time, the track totally vanished from the stations playing it and that's not the case this time. As Batman said to Jim Gordon regarding The Joker at the end of Batman Begins - 'I'll look into it'.
10/27/2009 9:20:57 AM Hi Glenn, My name is pronounced like faucet, but with the emphasis on the "set" part. Au"set". Thanks for asking. : )

And, just for being so patient, I'll follow up and burn some Hoolios for good measure. Once plans are finalized for a Rivergods live recording at the Eugene O'Neill I'll let you know and reserve a couple tix for you. Mike

4/4/2009 4:03:14 PM Hey, Glenn - thanks for coming along last night and supporting the monkeys. We had a blast! The song you were asking about is 'Making Amends' and soon as I'm in the studio, I'll post it to my page. Onward to Stash's on 23rd April! V (M68)
3/20/2009 5:50:07 PM Thanks for the extra shout, Glenn. I still remember us putting that one together around Geoff's kitchen table about ten years or so ago. The gliss-bliss guitar solo is actually Curtiss (mando) playing his main instrument. Man, he smoked that one right up! I'm right proud of those fellers. Mike
