Lars Mars was described by one long time fan as Perfectly Imperfect. The band formed in high school, playing local dances and parties before graduating to bars (and we even played at a few). While Ron did a stint in the Army, Dennis and Glenn stormed LA. Bob and Russ worked with other bands and polished their already prodigious skills. Bob, Den and Ron formed a trio while Glenn was in the SF Bay area with one of its many fine startup bands. When Glenn returned, Russ joined the first of many iterations of Lars Mars, and that core has remained together since. Ron Carrier - Drums Bob Simpson - Guitars, keyboards, vocals Russell Marth - Guitars Dennis Marth - Bass, Guitars, keyboards, vocals Glenn Rice - Vocals, harmonica, sax Jeff Lorello - Lars Mars Emeritus We humbly present our tunes for your entertainment.

A sound, a smile, a shadow's flickering light,
A moment's brief hesitation.
The time it takes to watch a bird taking flight,
Enough to make his mind roam, taking it home.

Thanks for the message. At the moment, I can't play ANYTHING on IAC and the slide show seems to have failed, but this could be a separate prob from the one you're having. Last time, the track totally vanished from the stations playing it and that's not the case this time. As Batman said to Jim Gordon regarding The Joker at the end of Batman Begins - 'I'll look into it'.

Glenn, I just tonight put together a CD pkg of Jammers and Rgods for you. I'll get them off tomorrow. And, just for being so patient, I'll follow up and burn some Hoolios for good measure.
Once plans are finalized for a Rivergods live recording at the Eugene O'Neill I'll let you know and reserve a couple tix for you.

Thanks for the extra shout, Glenn. I still remember us putting that one together around Geoff's kitchen table about ten years or so ago. The gliss-bliss guitar solo is actually Curtiss (mando) playing his main instrument. Man, he smoked that one right up! I'm right proud of those fellers.

Glenn
Thanks for the critique of In Flight...not too many people get this kind of jazz stuff or understand it, although this tune is not that heavy deep jazz in the true sense of the word. But It still seems to go over most peoples heads and they cant grasp the scope of what is happening in the song, ie the movements, flow and rhythmic transitions and the kinda of stutters so to speak , you did.
I try not to make my tunes in this Genre too crazy , but still try to keep them melodic with supporting underpinnings and voicings that are enjoyable. My main objective is to keep my style of jazz listenable so that the brightness, texture and quality of the music is inviting and draws the person into the storyline.
Your knowledge and understanding of music and jazz seems to reflect some definite training and schooling of some sort....That Elision description you used was a real nod of artistic endeavour and accomplishment in this song, I appreciated that...not an easy thing to achieve.
So Glenn thanks again for your wonderful review and appreciation of my music. and inclusion of the Gift of life song on your Thank you station too..
