Atul is a character who seems to have just popped out of a book! You have to meet him for sure to believe it..... He plays a variety of instruments - sax, guitar, clarinet, mandolin, flute, sitar, keys and also sings in a very different mode. He has been composing music since childhood. Always in search of a new sound and the only ambition in life was to create a band..... He has created wonderful compositions as a founder band member of Silk Route formed in the year 1995. The music album their first called 'Boondein' debuted at no.1 and scorched the charts with its fresh, evocative soundscapes, including the underwater video 'Dooba Dooba', which finally became a catalog seller and demonstrated the creative talent of the band to a broad spectrum of listeners. 'Boondein' won rave reviews for its creative song-writing in Hindi, English and 'Pahadi', going on to sweep the prestigious Channel-V awards, 1998. Two years later Silk Route assimilated its skills to venture into previously unexplored musical terrain, and brought their immediately identifiable sound to the next level - 'Pehchan', the second album. Diversifying to other creative mediums came naturally to the band and subsequent forays have included composing the entire soundtrack for the wacky movie ‘urf professor’..... Lost in his own dreams, his own world Atul is creating new magic with the inception of a new band called Indic Mist, 2007...... What else! Music for Atul is a passion who is always searching for the realms of the heart! Soul searching always to find new realities in sound, in music that would make you feel the depths to the core of your heart and soul.... "Indic Mist"......has started as a journey of self expression...with Atul trying his hand at a solo career ....The songs are written by him and his wife Jyoti, who could touch your hearts as music with her beautiful lyrics even before the lyrics are turned to musical compositions by Atul. Atul says..... "Well all this has been written by my friend Guneet.... the man who makes all the percussion and drum sounds on the album 'Rains of Fire'.... He actually is a satellite engineer working for the United Nations.... I call him DATA from Star Trek... Guneet is the silent one .... the only time he talks is when he gets a little tipsy... else he is always sitting in front of the computer, mesmerizing us with his technicalities..... it's been a learning experience with him.... Guneet was part of a band in the UK called Artronika .... jammin with Arthur and Ruth... Guneet is also coming out with his own album Maya.
