CEO Message to Members, and September Update to Members
CEO Message to Members
Since acquiring Independent Artist Company and IACmusic.com and related entities in February of this year, management has concentrated on rebuilding IACmusic.com purposely from the bottom up and from the inside out including the consolidation of activities intended to stabilize the financial side of the business while giving management and staff the opportunity to pursue the planning and implementation of upgrades and new programming features designed to improve the site for existing members and to attract new members – both artist and non-artist – as well as improve site traffic.
While it has been a challenging and exacting task it is slowly producing the anticipated results, perhaps not at the rate that some might hope to see, but results nevertheless and at a rate that we expect to see gather momentum in the weeks and months ahead as new programs begin to unfold.
Given the turn around that IACMusic.com has taken and come through since February I am happy to report that a net increase in membership represents a positive sign for the future, and while the majority of new signups have been Bronze (Free) artist members and Basic (Free) Starmaker members, I would like to remind all Bronze and Basic members of our recent introduction of a monthly payment option to upgrade to Premium (Silver, Gold or Platinum) membership.
As part of our marketing efforts, a new design of the Home front page is also in the works that will include new elements and features as well as a much needed new look.
With several exciting new projects on the horizon nearing the stage of completion that will substantially raise the public profile of our artist community, management remains confident and optimistic about the future for IACMusic.com.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the membership for your continued support and confidence as well as your contribution to IACmusic.com and for your patience and understanding while the site undergoes change or when things go wrong on the site as they are apt to do from time to time.
A summary of improvements, upgrades and new features added to the site over the past several months titled “September 2011 Update to Members” is included below. I encourage you to take a few minutes to review the information.

September 2011 Update to Members
Over the last several months, we have been busy with a number of projects and upgrades listed below intended to add value and benefit to a wide range of aspects of IACmusic.com.
IAC 3.0 – Changes to the web site included navigation reorganization, infrastructure upgrades, enhanced statistics, re-genrefication, membership levels and a comprehensive commerce solution.
True Streaming – Streams are managed by Flash Media Server for accurate play counts, quick stream startup and video upload capability.
Charts Upgrade – New formula with open source charts brings new reliability and accuracy as well as a higher level of responsiveness, to the charts; new subgenres all chartable.
SEO/SEM - Major pages of the site have been redeveloped in a way that is search engine friendly. Artists also can add their own keywords, specific to their situation and type of traffic desired.
Directed Traffic - Functionality has been developed to allow IAC to work with directed traffic providers - directed users will enter referral codes at signup and the provider will make a commission - providing the incentive for the provider to send traffic to IAC.
Apps - Apps to allow viewing and use of IAC's main pages have been created for iPAD and iPhone, as well as for devices running the Android O/S. These apps will soon be in the iOS Apps store and the Android Marketplace as well as on the forthcoming IACmusic.mobi site.
Starmaker - IAC's developers have created a new type of user page - the Starmaker page - and a system to go along with it. Starmaker members can create Stations and feature songs, rate artists, promote their favorites, and network with one another, on their way to creating a new generation of Stars - IAC Artists.
Artist/Band of the Week Feature - Just another way IAC helps independent artists to gain deserved exposure.
Constant Contact – IAC has recently begun to communicate with opted-in members via Constant Contact’s email services, ensuring much higher delivery rates to those who want to be in the loop.
Site Navigation - Menus in the public areas of the site have been updated with more options, updated with relevancy, and misdirected links have been corrected.
There are several exciting new projects being currently developed, as well as on the planning board, designed to significantly raise the level of promotion of our artist community and to bring new members to IAC.
