How to deal with forum controversy - a well intentioned observation
1) Sometimes you have to deal with people who are upsetting you because if you're sensitive you need to make things right in your head so that you can relax.

2) Sometimes you have a knee-jerk reaction because you feel wronged and you need to clarify matters and get your point made. Often you regret this on reflection but it always feels bigger to you than to others so it's time to stop beating yourself up.

3) But sometimes you just have to realise that things end much quicker when you don't give them undue attention. In fact, often whatever it was that seemed to start with you will deviate, contort and go to another place and no-one will even know or remember your part in it.

I know it's hard sometimes :)

I threw my two cents in on another relevant thread. Your post is very succinct...

I especially like number three, its hard to do but it is effective. In fact, the person who through the zinger may get frustrated becuase you did not respond. ...so in a way, you win :) I do agree, sometimes the threads move so fast people reading will not even realize you did not respond.

relax - reflect - release - relate----- nice idea !

or

react---rage--respond ---revenge!

in our indigenous culture (In NZ)

UTU---revenge is part of the culture---it can carry on through generations----

Good points.

Unfortunately, sometimes there isn't the time to do all the research required, for a completely intelligent / relevant post.

And other times, like with Raymond Porter blogs, it's quite clear the blog is not long for this world, so you better drop off your input real quick, before the thread is deleted.

I think we should be allowed to be a little scatter-brained from time to time, in this crazy culture of having to work our tails off in the rest of life, and then work that much harder to continue to pursue the dream of music.

-just my two cents

Thank you for the wise advice. Some (like myself) are blogging neophytes, and need to know the pitfalls, and protocol.
