This here is a song I wrote oh 'bout ten years ago or so...
maybe more, probably maybe 11 or 12 years ago...
actually the third time I've recorded it, this one does
sound the best it's ever sounded. You tell me.

COUNTRY DAWN

In the Country Dawn
I remember feeling I'm where I belong
Then she went away
Said, I'm sorry but I must be moving on

And if seems like yesterday to me
But it's been years since I've been free

And I know what it's like
When that morning sun
Says Hello
To the Country Dawn

Well, the city lights
They are everywhere
And some might call them bright
But they can't compare
To a zillion stars
Up there in Country Nights

Though they stand so high
They reach so low
You can almost put one
In your pocket for your own

And there's something about
The way life has just begun
In the Country Sun

I got lucky
'Cause once in my life
I was alright
City folks was talkin'
I was Country Mile walkin'
Nobody home
Leave me alone
No one here but me
And I'm an animal
I don't like strangers
I'm wounded and
I'm kind of dangerous

My memories
Are all the Good Lord left for me.
In the here and now
I am anyone but who I want to be

But I had it all right then and there
Just couldn't find the words to say
How much I care

But she's there in my mind
All of the time
And love grows like a Country Rose

~Guitar

I got lucky
'Cause once in my life
I was alright
City folks was talkin'
I was Country Mile walkin'
Nobody home
Leave me alone
No one here but me
And I'm an animal
I don't like strangers
I'm wounded and
I'm kind of dangerous

You
Were a shooting star
Who leaped across my sky
In a Country Heart
Livin' in the city, prob'ly till I die

I could breathe the air
I could see you there
I could help the Country Breeze
Play through your Country Hair

There's not much I can say
It's yesterday, yes I know
I let God lead the way
Only the way
That He shows
But in earlier hours
I smelled the flowers
And I know...

I'm a Country Joe

In the Country Dawn
In the Country Dawn

Apollo Ape Rules.
That has nothing to do with the song,
nor is that a song lyric,
I just like that movie, okay?
