Blue Jay Way
Our "Magical Mystery Tour" starts at the corner of Sunset and Doheny. Sunset Boulevard runs from downtown Los Angeles all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Doheny Drive is at around the 9100 block, which is just west of the Roxy and the Whisky, two of the nightclubs that made the Sunset Strip famous. On the corner (at 9101 Sunset) is Gil Turner's, liquor store to the stars. 1. Go north on Doheny. Just up the hill from Gil Turner's, stay on Doheny as it veers a little to the left (don't make a hard left or right). Pass Cordell Drive and Sierra Mar Drive. Here comes the tricky part. You need to stay on Doheny as it branches off to the right. If you go straight, you're on another road entirely. Pass Mockingbird Place, Flicker Way, Warbler Place, and Warbler Way. (Notice how all the side streets are named after birds?) 2. Turn right on Oriole Drive. Pass Oriole Lane. 3. Turn left on Thrasher. Pass Skylark Lane. Thrasher veers to the left. You're almost there. 4. As you reach 9024 Thrasher, look to your left. Here it is!

Surf's Up

Folk 4 Folks

THE SAD SONGS
Behind Blue Eyes is a cover of a timeless classic by The Who. Peaked at #1 on Cashbox Magazines Top Ten Pop Picks. Peaked at #1 on IAC Classic & Progressive Rock Chart.

LEGENDARY MUSIC II
I have started my New Year here on my stations with Black Velvet Lace - a gifted and greatly talented artist who has been on my list to add for far too long covering "Behind Blue Eyes" - a Pete Townshend and The Who legendary classic that comes with a music pedigree bar none. My initial anticipation was turned into instant and perfect rapture within seconds of Lace's soft piano intro followed by her exquisitely glorious and gorgeous lead vocals and harmonies ebbing and flowing from beginning to end. Like riding a majestic tide building and rolling on the high seas, I felt myself being lifted and carried away on the crest of Lace's masterful and most beautiful rendition of this great song. Along with Jim Reynolds Sr.'s electric guitar counterpoint accents to Lace's instrumentation, the arrangement and production here is consummately ethereal, wrapping around Lace's powerful yet ever so gentle, emotional and passionate vocals, raising the bar on this timeless classic and taking it soaring to new heights. In this old cowboy's humble opinion, this noted melodic rock song in the accomplished hands of Lace and her consummate sidemen crew of Jim Reynolds Sr. and Jr. becomes a rapturous and glorious symphony overflowing and crowned with nothing less than a king's ransom in accolades. Surely Mr. Townshend and The Who must be moved and wondrously touched by Lace's awesome take on their legendary work ... #1 on the Cashbox Magazine Top Ten Pop Picks, #1 on IAC Classic & Progressive Rock Chart and # 1 on the playlist to get 2009 off to a great start on Legendary Music II. I'm honored to bring you here Lace - finally and long overdue!! Play on girl, I'm listening and thoroughly loving every minute!!

MUSIC IS TRUTH
Alright, I know I have had this one here sometime in the past and somehow for some reason, that classic beauty of a song disappeared from M.I.T. But it is back to stay! (this song is on a couple of my other stations)and Lace sure has a voice that just is some kinda wonderful and alluring : )sweetness indeed! What a stellar arrangement on this one for sure with rich texturing and soundscaping, great production and musicianship

Radio Jones
