A courtship in 3 parts with acoustic guitar, piano, viola, and pedal steel.
Don't expect anything else on the record to sound anything like this one, either.

Recorded and mixed by Noah Samuels
Assisted by Brandon Koumos
Auset’s and Brad’s parts recorded by Brad Sarno
Produced by: Todd Leiter-Weintraub, David Kling, and Noah Samuels
Todd: Acoustic guitar and vocals; David: Piano; Jan Hammer and Gabrielle Allen: Viola; Auset Sarno: Backing vocals; Brad Sarno: Steel guitar
This one is all about the song. I think that the melody and the chord changes are some of the prettiest that I’ve ever come up with. I know that this is also a particular favorite of Dave. When I played the recording for my wife for the first time, when she first heard Jan’s and Gabby’s viola, her eyes got big and she sat up in her chair....
And then with the pedal steel, forget it!
1.
Were we lonely?
I forget
But I can't forget the way you looked
The night that we first met

It was Tuesday
It was late
But not too late to play the flirt
Or play the hand of fate

-c-
A smile hello
Come on, let’s go
The bar’s about to close
“Here’s a pen,
“I’ll call you when…”

2.
Were we happy?
I forget
But I can't forget the words you said
When you said it should end

I was happy
What did you expect?
But I didn’t expect the way I felt
When you stayed in my head

-c-
The urge to phone
Come on, let’s go
The show’s about to start
“Hey, why not?,
Another shot…

-bridge-
As much as things were meant to be
This was meant to be
As much as things were meant to be
I’m glad you came to me
As much as things were meant to be
You were meant for me
As much as you were meant for me...

3.
Now where are we?
How could I forget?
We’re on the road, come on, let’s go…

Mystery Radio
eYe give 4 thumbs up. lets go grooves and is a trip

The Allure
Total Pop induced grooves is what moves Todd

The Gatekeeper
Some real fine singing, touching lyrics and wonderful artistry.

Adult Alternative Asylum
From Todd's forthcoming CD. A Beautiful melody, well arranged with sweet strings, Piano, and steel guitar. Well produced and recorded...

Road Movie..
Very sweet pop ballad, with some neat chord changes and a nicely understated melancholy vibe...Has a country flavour courtesy of the pedal steel but is closer in feel to a cool 70s singer/songwriter,which is fine by me..Very nice:)

WBOB 123.4 iNTERNET RADIO
Great vocals, arrangement and songwriting is just beautiful...cheers to hop on pop

I love songs that paint pictures - just enough brush strokes to let the listener fill in the details. And the strings... the STRINGS!! Simply lovely.

Music is Truth too!
Stellar piece of work. lots of thought and heartfelt truth and energy dedicated here, this one really resonates with the listener. Todd has catapulted his songwriting craft to a whole nother level....this is worthy of hitline...but nonetheless wherever it goes or lives this is his all time best track that just pulls at the heartstrings.Vocals and harmonies,, pretty sweet stuff man..... nice arrangement and just really well put together...great ballad.and that piano! nice......and that steel pulls it all together and makes that song even so much better, nice choice of instrumentation............footnote I did not see credits until I added that brad and auset sarno were involved in making this sparkle and shine with their touches, that was some great magic happening there Todd, very cool bringing them onboard. clever move indeed...
