Only Eighteen
Walt Cronin met Zander Schloss when working on a now cult film called "Repo Man" by Alex Cox. Walt's friend Peter McCarthy from Chicago was one of its producers. He had just moved to Los Angeles and helped out videotaping the auditions with his interest in video production just beginning. Zander of course played "Kevin" and went on to pursue his true passion of music, writing some of the soundtracks of Alex's other films, "Sid & Nancy,"& "Straight To Hell" as well as acting in them. He is the bass player for one of L.A.'s founding punk bands "The Circle Jerks" still on tour after these many years.
Zander has also written with the late Joe Strummer and Scott Weiland. Zander, originally from St Louis moved to California as a teenager. Having become friends while working on "Repo Man" in 1984, they reunited when Zander rented the studio apartment in 1999 over Walt's garage.

I've just loaded up a song called TEN YEARS, which was written and recorded in Tasmania, Australia to celebrate World Environment Day in 1990. This is a LIVE AID type anthem featuring over 20 musicians and singers. The song was inspired by David Suzuki's statement that we had only 10 years to reduce our green house gases or we would face irreversible climate change. The song has turned out to be very prophetic. The whole project was done for virtually no cost with, every thing including studio time was donated. A video was also produced showing magnificent Tasmanian wilderness, and was shown Australia wide on World Environment day 1990. I will load the video when the filmmaker finishes converting it to a digital format.
I thought it needed a rerun for the world to hear, as everything mentioned in the song has happened. Most of the climate change ideas were speculation when I wrote this song.
I would be very happy if the good people of IAC could help get this song out as a bit of a community message.

Stoneman is a graduate of Diablo Valley College's prestigious music industry studies program. While maintaining a 4.0 GPA he earned credentials in both Music Industry Studies and Recording Arts. However, Stoneman is no new comer to the music industry as he has been working as a producer, Songwriter, performer and Recording Engineer for 40+ years.
As a songwriter Stoneman has written hundreds of songs in 12 musical genres. To date, Stoneman has had 53 songs signed to a variety of European and domestic Publishers and 48 commercial releases. He has also produced and released 5 solo CD's on his own label "Hands Up Records".
As a producer Stoneman has recorded and produced hundreds of songs in 12 musical genres. He is proficient in a variety of production software including Pro Tools, Pro Logic, Cubase SX, Reason, Izotope, Harbal, Recycle, Soundforge, Sonar, N-Track, Magix and a host of other production and mastering softwares. He is also proficient in a variety of hardware consoles, Digital Recorders and an assortment of rack mount gear.
Stoneman has been performing in the music industry for over 40 years or since the tender age of 9. His primary performance skills are keyboards and vocals. He has been the lead vocalist for 30+ bands in 5 genres of music. He has toured all over California and the United States.
What makes Stoneman so unique is the fact that he is versatile and accomplished in many facets of music. He has been a music industry executive (general Manager Almaden Valley Music/ASCAP 1994-1996) and a performer which gives him special insight into all facets of the industry. His music is still current and in sync with today's styles and genres. He has collaborated with countless musicians from all over the world.
