I Love Carolyn's singing, she has got that true real country feel with a twist of modern freshness to it but not contrived or anything that reeks of the new Nashville sound , I like the real true to roots vibe on this one. this is song that is worthy of the hitline and I would like to see this one on country radio cause it would really work well. Mellow at times but builds as it moves and she captures some great dynamics. fine musicianship and instrumentation. nicely produced, and the vocals stand out front which i really like....very fine song Carolyn added to station 1/30/2010 4:11:48 AM

I should have had Bob up on numerous stations ages ago. I dont know why I Neglected to listen in on his material and missed out, but hopefully can listen many times to all his works to fully appreciate and gather in his incredible musicianship and lyrical gems that are glittering throughout his artist page here This one jumped right out, the fine finger style guitar picking is just so wonderful to listen to, even that is in itself is enough to make this song stand out,. but then his vocals come at you and the story he relates engages your mind and challenges you to listen. This song is Evocative, spell binding and thought provoking...I have to go back and read those lyrics again and listen to the song many more times to really grasp what is going on...i sure enjoyed the song....This is pretty cool stuff By the Way Bob. Luisa
Maeve and her song Luisa is certainly a sweet elegant tune. It is very reflective, somewhat hopeful yet at times it has a longing and to it and Maeve captures the essence of what she intended, as it is a very moving composition. A lyrical piano part of broken chords is effectively textured into the theme, a nice light guitar accompaniment is just slightly noticeable supporting the song and a lovely cello, viola ? is evident in a complimentary way to offer up the support for Maeve vocals. the use of the stringed instrument was almost as if another singer was there Maeve's singing was light, airy and the vocals she provided had a nice tonal color as well as she captured the quality of feeling and emotions in the song. Cathy gives it up on the sky will fall on this somewhat introspective song, it is perhaps a bit dark at times and even a bit on the hurting side. Would some sadness be a primary impetus for the songs development. a true to life experience is more then likely involved....somewhat haunting harmonies wraps itself around you and you are there too anyways that is how I see it added to station 3/4/2009 7:31:48 PM

Happy Go Lucky I'd Say
great tune by Larz Boah......love the organic quality and rootsy feel on this sweet piece of work. the use of the acoustic and electric guitar is kinda cool. Larz has some unique style to his vocals...and the story is special. perhaps something interesting triggered this tune. I am tripping out on it. nice one added to station 3/1/2009 6:40:17 PM

Best Friend
Best Friend (Lane) This a really gorgeous piece, sweet, a little short but a heartfelt song full of hope, longing and perhaps even a bit reflective. After listening to Cathy Lane and her beautiful songs and her angelic voice I thought I would add Best Friend as it depicts something we all need, sometimes there are not enough of these in our lives hopefully we can make more because that is why we are here. Best Friend is something special and Cathy lane captures it nicely in word and song. added to station 3/4/2009 5:19:34 PM

Love When I Can
Voice and song meandering through your soul like a warm summer breeze. Music that sends a signal ,sends a message sends a hopeful thought or two. holds out a lite candle that flickers here and there...shadowy patterns are cast as you walk with it in your life, sometimes in darkness hope seems lost, love is something to treat carefully ,be how I am , I break easy......... added to station 2/5/2009 3:29:46 PM

edge of the world (dying is fine)
Another pretty fine tune by nowhereman who gives his view of what life is about..cool hooks here and there are going on .."I dont mind .....into the world" dying is fine...kinda a little retro feel on the guitar playing is fitting. somewhat haunting of course given the title and keeps you trying to reach in and get in the artists head and what prompted him to come up with such a crafty title..nice one... edge of the world ( dying is fine) but it started to make sense as I listened a few more times,,,I really liked "The more you live the more you die", that is possible...I guess . there are musical patterns and reflective picturesque words and thoughts which are scattered throughout the song, so please listen to appreciate the song. and lean into the speakers or listen hard with the phones one....because the vocals are swallowed up to some degree. But perhaps intentionally done so, and then you will find out the truth of what is in the song..Oh the mystery of life, the mystical quality as we walk travel in time, like a breeze that swirls about you and then you look and see your own humanity, are you standing still ,while you are moving forward. or is it the otherway around .time and space time and space , where are you standing? , ...so I bid thee all a good night , It is late and I am now crashing great tune /... added to station 2/5/2009 6:09:49 AM

My Hometown
The Steves are backkkkkkkk, (Ison and April do their magic with such clarity of thought and with careful attention to production and musicality ) lovely intro...quiet and mellow, and simple as they seduce you into believing it is going to just be acoustic guitar and vocals and a little percussion,,,,surprise surprise, the geniuses provide a guise and fool you completely and then in comes the bass, violins by Chris Price. nice work Chris, and the ascending vocals and the melody begins to take you and you are tripping the light fantastic. later on the song gets more energy and dramatic , intelligent and clever shots of punchy guitar , and that horn part by .Simon Lunn on Trumpet.sweetness.... .nice work you two-I ride my bicycle to school and you are off to your hometown.....lets join them on this special adventure of sorts...the magic tandem strikes AGAIN.. What asset to IAC and to music in general these guys should be a radio..........get it on and out there dudes!!! keep up the great work brothers in the muse and noise of love added to station 2/2/2009 9:18:30 PM

Otis and the Professors
Keepers of the Truth
"Keepers of the Truth"-A great title and a poignant one too. Otis and the Professors have touched on a subject that obviously affects us all individually one time or more during the course of our life and this type of thing has been going on during the course of mankind's sojourning on this earth since time immemorial... Yes, there are liars, cheats, frauds and those who manipulate the financial system and the governments for their own personal benefit and create havoc for the many...This is nothing new, and it will never change. But we seem to survive in spite of it all''' Great song guys. The message in song you provided was appreciated and was very well presented and truly sung from the heart. Thanks for sharing this brothers..you are all doing a great job and keep working those chops and writing.. bryon tosoff added to station 1/25/2009 8:50:49 PM

Queen Of Hearts (collabro Steve Ison)
What can I say folks , it all has been said before about Steve Ison ( melody, vocal, production, guitar ) and his collaborator Steve April (lyrics and production) They have an innate and creative synergy that is second to none as a songwriting tandem. So they made a beautiful song about a particular historical event and viola there it is. What a magic formula they do have, ,I am sure there is something hidden in their cupboards at home that produce such magical sounds..What a cool descending melodic guitar line there by Mark Stein (piano as well) and wonderful placed fingerstyle picking too! and S.I you have some truly gripping vocals happening ,nice work here, I love the progression and the touches on the piano, sweetness indeed, How do they do it? Well, I think they Mixed in some shakes of the passion they have for music they do , then after wards they added a pinch of inspiration, and then topped it off with a dash or two of spontaneity and of course sprinkled it all with the love and joy of just making something special come alive in the music itself////cool piece..pretty decent production,.fine musicianship and overall just a fun song to listen to........ bryon added to station 1/14/2009 4:28:34 PM

If I Met You Again
Magical, inviting and reflective, perhaps even serene in places but punched up with some upbeat energetic kicking jump here and there..... This song is skillfully developed with strong lyrics and fluid chord progressions, which I might add are nicely voiced out or perhaps well shaped would better describe them.. What places this song in a class by itself are the well placed quieter moments. Other aspects that add to the strength of the song are those touches of strings and it is topped off with the fine acoustic guitar which is keeping that rhythm going oh so well, in conjunction is the well timed E. guitar shots....In closing I have to mention the fine work on the part of the song that holds it all together is the percussion and bass which is the heart of any top notch song.. Oh i cannot forget Steve's Vocals ,they are amazing and I would consider even at world class quality, his singing is so nice to listen to... Indeed the song has proven the test of time here at IAC. welcome to what the folk! Steve. added to station 1/11/2009 10:39:36 PM

When Will We Love True
Sweet vocals that is for sure. Some fine work throughout in every aspect of this song. I particularly liked the intro, well crafted. Nice transition into the bridge.love the progressions . superb arrangement ,top notch production, love the percussion.great work there, Just enough instrumentation to make this song stand out and support Auset on her wonderful presentation of this song which reaches out and truly impacts the listener, and that haunting steel , very nice indeed Beautifully performed by a gifted singer and backing band........ (ps everytime I listen to this song it blows me away, it is addictive, captivating and has a appeal that is difficult to put into words, that is the power of music and how it can move our spirits to laugh cry and celebrate. I certainly am in awe of Auset's skilled guitar playing and that killer steel playing, What a fine beautiful melody line in between those wonderful vocals, I could go on and laud this song and the artists even more, but need to listen more : thanks Auset for such a heartfelt song and sharing it with us.!!!!) added to station 12/16/2008 10:19:15 PM

We Go On and On
Marc has a amazing catalog of songs which are well worth listening too. I found this one riveting..Can I say that again riveting and gripping, sure thing I can, it captured my attention with its interesting conceptual approach to his ideas , have we lived before, are we being regenerated over and over until we get it right and then proceed to that higher plane of spiritual beings...Can I surmise that he is reflecting on a higher power that somehow has a hand in our lives here and there throughout our sojourn on earth He lays it down with some introspective and interesting thoughts which are well delivered. Just where are we in this part of our human experience. Are we in the Beginning, in the Middle, or near the Ending of our current calling here during our walk on the face of the earth. Interesting work Marc. Nice storyline added to station 1/12/2009 12:36:27 AM

What a fine feel to this tune and pretty special in its name too. Shall we hold tight to what we have and treat each other with respect and love. Another style Taylor gives us and that is in the kinda up tempo southern rock / country influence feel.Even though it is indicated as indie pop/rock I really hear some of that good ole country rock thing going on.. at least that is how I see it........ What a Multi-faceted artist. needless to say, but I will, Taylor is an incredibly accomplished artist capable of doing pretty much anything. don't know how I missed hearing about her before this. But definitely will be spreading the word on her music and if she ever hits Vancouver, Canada, I will definitely get to one her shows adding it to my What the Folk, cause I dont got no Country Station or indie pop alternative thing going on.... added to station 12/15/2008 7:32:38 PM
