SEE YOU ON THE MOON (feat Jake)
The genesis of this music started when their sister/daughter Katrina was killed, at age 16, in a motor vehicle accident. Jake was 15 and Leo was 9. Music was a huge part of the grieving process, and many songs were written. Rob was already a musician in a duo with his bass player Hannibal, playing at weddings, gala days and festivals as a two piece. Jake had just bought his first guitar and started playing with them as lead guitarist. After Katrina’s death the whole family moved to Perth Australia and drove from there across the Nullabor to Sydney, camping out under the stars and trying to make sense of the tragedy.

Love Me
This page is dedicated to the memory of my sister Deborah Ellis, who passed away 20 years ago in 1991, after a short but troubled life. Debbie wrote some poetry before she left, and this has been put to music on an album called 'The Moth and Light', completed in 2000. Although the tone of the words is sad and introspective, Debbie's gift for words and expression shows through. She is deeply missed by all who loved her.

Rebecca Pidgeon
Baby Please Come Home
Choosing to co-write a song or two with one of the world’s most accomplished writers can also get the blood flowing. The idea of Rebecca and David Mamet writing a country song together, such as the plaintive “Baby Please Come Home,” is worthy of an essay unto itself. The duo already has one country song under their belt, “Army Brat,” which was a bonus track on her previous CD. “When two artists live together, they are undoubtedly going to influence one another,” says Rebecca. “One of the things Dave taught me about writing is to try not to go for the obvious. You don’t want to the listener to beat you to the punch line of the rhyme. I also realized with my background I can imagine myself into a character even when I’m writing.”

Too Sad To Cry
HUGH HAMILTON is a stay-at-home father of three who has rather obsessive-compulsively been equipping his home studio over the last few years, spending more time learning how to use gear than writing songs. Perhaps 2008 will allow him to switch on the "musicial" part of his brain and resume cranking out some new tunes...and maybe even stop using the third person when writing about himself...MOST of what you hear on this page was done one-man-band style, but we acknowledge with gratitude the drumming of Dean Clean on a number of songs

Happy Rhodes is an enigma. This is according to the Music Industry, which has never been able to pigeon-hole her into any category. Her music is otherworldly yet substantial and her 4-octave voice has a haunting familiarity to it. Most listeners find her work difficult to describe and yet she incites an almost unheard of devotion among her fans. She goes from Kate Bush highs to David Bowie lows and you find yourself being beckoned to follow her into her multilayered worlds.

Words, music, thoughts and feelings. Like any art, it exists to cause reaction (good... bad... it doesn't matter, just so long as it's not indifferent). From Somerdale New Jersey, Steve Iannetti invites us into a world of jackhammers and drilling; torturing some poor soul day and night. This artist sketches a dismal warning to all that he is a danger to not only himself, but "but everybody else". Scary. Steve has a gift for exposing the ironies of the most mudane of life's scenarios. He does not leave you laughing; but, he coaxes a wry smile . . . The Blueflowers
I Can't Stop My Heart From Breaking
The Blueflowers were created in January 2009 out of the ashes of Detroit's premier shoegaze/dreampop outfit, Ether Aura, who were formed by Detroit music scene veteran Tony Hamera and vocalist Kate Hinote. The Blueflowers play a cinematic blend of alt-country, americana and indie pop - highlighted by vocalist Kate Hinote's emotional and somber delivery. Guitarist Tony Hamera's ambient tapestry recalls memories of David Lynch's dark visions and the Spaghetti Western soundtracks of Ennio Morricone. Drummer Marvin Shaouni and bassist Erica Stephens hold down the rhythms while David Johnson adds texture on the acoustic guitar. Their debut release, Watercolor Ghost Town, was produced and engineered by guitarist Hamera, and adheres to the spirit of true independent music

Hop On Pop
Ashes On the Water (live/acoustic)
Hop On Pop was four friends, brought together by Todd Leiter-Weintraub to record an album full of his original compositions. That album, As Drawn By Ethan, Age 2, was released in April, 2004 on Spade Kitty Records. The album received positive reviews and achieved relatively modest sales.
The band splintered in August, 2007, leaving Leiter-Weintraub alone... all by his lonesome.

Remember (Demo)
I'm constantly writing and recording music both with and without my band-mates, it's just what I do best. When I write and develop songs that I feel are more suited for my vocal style and when I feel as though they just wouldn't work or be successful for the band, I record them on my own in my home studio and post them here so that all of you can listen to them.

Otis and the Professors
Doppler Effect
We got into music at first largely as a way to transform some personal tragedies into art, a personal expression that could help deal with the pain. We started writing this songs lyrics after hearing some sirens fly by our apartment and wanted to capture how we felt for the people who's lives would be most affected by wherever those sirens were headed. A little while later we were at the grocery store. Otis was joking with the checkout girl about a smiley face he had drawn on the electronic signature. After joking the girl began to shake and fell to the ground with a seizure. Her heart and breathing stopped until a doctor in line resuscitated her. We went home and immediately finished this song about personal tragedy and the way it intersects all out lives.

A Child's Eyes
This song is based on a true story told to me by a survivor of the holocaust in Europe during World War II who watched her father being taken away to a concentration camp. At the gate to one of the camps was a sign that said something like "Work will set you free". As people entered the camp they were sent to the left or right-one meaning immediate death, the other meaning "life" in the camp. Though this song is about World War II it is unfortinate that scenes like this have taken place at o

Gina French
Regret's Last Chance
Music is my sanctuary, singing is my passion”
Those are the words that the Utah-based musician and singer/songwriter Gina French uses to sum up her musical vision. Hers is a voice that has been variously described as “volcanic” and “an angelic instrument” by different reviewers.
French is not a newcomer. She’s been around, spending years performing both in bands and as a solo act, gradually learning the basics and paying her dues along the way. Long ago she came to realize that she had almost literally been born with music in her blood, but it has taken her time (often while life intervened) to nurture and cultivate her natural gifts through a patient and gradual growing process which has brought her to where she is today

Don't Give In
It was our 2nd time playing with bass player Dan Eubanks. We decided to record our practice to help him learn the songs. We sat in a circle in our very small living room, direct mic'd the steel and bass and threw a simple room mic up. The crickets outside were SO loud, we decided to open the windows and invite them in.... not flawless, but we feel it was very magical what happened in the living room that summer evening.

PIP and MERRY
safe in his angels arms
True representatives of heart felt Folk/Country.
Transforming bare emotion into lyrics. Truly a landmark for English folk.( new york times.)
Most of the songs here are recorded in pips trailer just guitar, mandolin, tin can, and pip & merry, we sing live so these songs are not perfect but what is, love to you all. pip & merry. These songs bring refreshing depth and unaffected sincerity to their music. I hear elements of the Everley Brothers, deep blue ridge that never heard of Nashville, and some of what I will call "poor white gospel" (old smoky mountain church music). It is all relaxing, thoughtful, and wistful ...staggerlee .... POWERFUL SONGS A TREAT TO OLD & YOUNG EARS.

I Think of You
Susan Raven: "I write all my songs on a vintage Martin 12-string guitar. It is an entire band in one instrument, the harmonics and drones that spin out from the strumming suggest many of the overdubs that follow. I take a song and hone it until the base-metal turns to gold. I write lyrics to trigger emotions, memories and inspiration in people and as my craft has matured, so a strong individual sound has emerged. My music has been variously described as Cosmic World Fusion, Space Rock and Ethno-Pop."
