Long Way Down - Mark Hewer & Ash Ferry
Stellar piece of work on this collab by Ash Ferry and Mark Hewer. one of those magical songs that calls out with a longing quality.Beautiful producton and the sweet and unique vocals of Ash and she brings in the angels to sing too, a moving thoughtful piece with deep rich lyrics coupled with nicely textured instrumentation. love the song. it takes me on a journey of sorts.....that beginning I wish I could fall......what a hook it has, draws you right into the song and the storyline is a heartfelt one and so colorful too, such a wondrful tapestry of music and words beautifully woven together , what a skilled lyricist Ash Ferry is. take a ride across the universe on this one

The Waxbills
Love Song
Bringing their brand of alternative rock to iac and most everywhere these days The Waxbills throw down this one with an energy and dynamic quality that inspires and makes you listen to the wide range of colors they offer up on this one,oh yeah from the quiet to the reckless abandon with that way so cool chorus and total serious hooks that are so well baited, your caught, they reel you in, they drive this one like right between the eyes and ears. This is more then what it seems. so dont let it escape, you are in concert live with them on this song my friends...they give it and got it. rock on fellow canucks

Like You Do
Cool tune and Radio ready, and I am talking terresterial and satellite broadcasting, sure internet streaming is cool, but lets face it, there is nothing like hearing your tunes on the air or coming through on cable TV, and I am sure we would all love that, and this song should be happening in the real world, you know, with a djs saying "Check out this new release by...." and such. This is a trippy piece of music. kinda found myself drifting in the 70's as Kevin really added that bit of retro flavor to this one and that guitar lead, stellar, nice touches throughout with fine percussion and very good vocals and harmonies happening there too. This is just a great piece of music with typical Kevinski production and quality. If I could put together a song like this I would be mighty proud and overjoyed.
well done Kevin, your songwriting acheivements are many, we appreciate your talents.

How has this one escaped me. This group is so versatile in their abilities, individual and collectively. What elegance and so appealing. Very moving, those strings, the orchestration the arrangement, the soul, the vibe, the heart , the connection to the music they have in this composition is amazing what a tremendous piece of work. moving and capturing you like a butterfly, but gently kindly with consideration ,reaching in and pulling at your heartstrings and Miche I think is the best ever in this song, I like all the others I have heard. but this grabs me
and those bgs and that acoustic guitar, sweet, all over.....nicely done Fyrefly so way too good. indeed......

What A huge talent. impressive, this is a woman who has a magical quality and sings with such such colour and tones that are world class and her range and texture is supremely superb...yes indeed she has a special quality that reaches in and moves and inspires you, and you say, wow, this type of singing is a treat to listen to and of course the song has some pretty cool grooves and great lyrics , . Great Start to the song very quiet and and reflective and then that instrumentation grabs you
Just that right amount of bass, sitting in the back, lending support and the rhythm section giving substance and richness to the song..sweet touches on the guitar too!..
but that voice, another mircale here at IAC, and where ever else she might be living ,I love the way she uses that vocal instrument of hers is scary......lifts the spirit and makes you want more.

(Love and kindness will conquer the world in time-nice work)
Unique incorporation of vocals and instrumentation which is effectively dovetailed into a rainbow of tonal colours. Well done to the Cascione's, who with the assistance of Kenny Lewis have given us a special treat on SUN RAZOR. These two huge talents, The Cascione tandem of Denise and Dean have taken it from its original instrumental rendition and repackaged it into an kind of ambient soul pop tune. Although it is in the Christian genre I find it so refreshing and soothing with the lovely guitar texturing, the reverent and majestic string section and then topped of with the fine fluid rich vocals of Denise who captures you with her soulful presentation. This is a very reflective and hopeful song and it displays the depth of her musical capabilities She can sing it all, from jazz to blues as well as those songs that are inspirational and uplifting... Insatiable
You know we all need A "feel good" song, and Insatiable gives you that completely and it has a little bit of r&b in a groovy pop tune, The song develops nicely with a cool hook that grabs you on "how could it be" that you are just insatiable" and builds to the bridge and grooves on that fine part "you are insatiable" , "just cant get enough"!
There is a really neat change-up after that bridge with a resonating bass thing that happens
The song develops nicely that with sweetness of Jilly vocals and Scott's fine Tenor Vocals which offers up some countering with Jilly's singing and also they really blend well on their harmonies....This is a fun song to listen to

Fly Away - DEMO
A Real catchy pop tune going on here, a real happy go lucky and fun tune to listen too. What a gem of a song. It is abundantly clear that Mandi Kennel has a knack for writing and crafting great melodies. If you listen closely you will hear this tune move fluidly with a nice little hook happening in behind on the string/orchestra synth shots moving over top of the main progression ( but not too much-just enough) and then goes into a nice change up on the bridge. cool harmonies. Great composition Mandi, look forward to your upcoming cd too. This too should have a consideration for Big 50 or Underground 40. If I had some influence it would be there. very cool tune............

Turn to blue
Sweet piece of work by DreamCapture who indeed have captured something rarely found in this day and age of raucous ear splitting noise and rage that seems to have enveloped the music scene these days, but that being said, it is ok to have dynamic and intense energy, because music has it way to reveal the truth of what is inside of us,and DreamCapture reflects an elegance and beauty rarely discovered. kinda like finding a diamond , that sparkles, shines and is something you admire and wonder how did this gem become so strong yet so gentle looking, that is what "Turn to Blue" does for me, lovely, full of truth and wonderful lyrical content and that voice, that singing is breathtaking and that fingerstyle guitar is refreshing, and of course nicely supported by a touch of violin and a tasteful simple guitar melody line here and there. Then that mellow Cello/Viola that cries its way in places too? All in All a wonderful song and a beautiful story too

Girl Goes Electric
Rough With My Body
Adam and Susan throw down a sweet soulful groove on this tune. I have to admit what it really was, well it was the name of the song, when I first saw the title of the song it piqued my interest, but only in the musical sense mind you, because in music there could be duality occurring...so dont get the wrong idea here...
Anyways this song moves towards the jazzy side of things with a twist of electronic wizardry by Adam (Great use of programming, cool percussive qualities incorporated and some fine chops there on piano too bit of a bluesy feel! and well produced as the caressing strings offer up a thoughtful nature of sorts ) and the reflective sexy sultry vocals by Susan and this tune takes you on a journey of sorts. There is definitely a club atmospheric element about the tune as the song swirls about and you could find yourself sipping one or two or some other good things..... and then of course the lyrical content is intriguing as Susan envelopes you with her Sensuous vocals and you drift into the song and dream
along as she hooks you with the Line " be rough with my body and gentle with my mind" yeah, clever one Susan, I thought that was genius coming up with that line. Nice one Susan, great hook there and we all need to be treated with care and respect...Susan's song crafting has some definite value and reading through her lyrics made me appreciate the skill these people develop from their personal experiences and dovetail the same into song....my kind of song since I lean towards the jazz funk & blues styles with a twist of course

This is a terrific piece of work by "Coloured Vinyl" with Scott taking a good part of the vocals and Jilly trading off vox here and there in a sparkling way as she is so good at doing. FT and Jilly are so good augmenting the song in colorful and inventive ways and the sprinkling in of Jilly's unique vocal textures supports the song so well. Short crisp and dynamic. Love the bit of improv in the middle. those percussive shots are effective and the big undulating bass thing is shaking it out and it really adds character to the song. Lyrics are superb

You're Mysterious
Folks,This is a seriously amazing tune & a great piece of work!
Re-edited after Natalie provided me with more feedback on tune
thanks Nat, I appreciate that.
Another solid song from Natalie. mellow and reflective, sweet and easy listening indeed
This is a Very nicely arranged composition. I especially liked the guitar part picking away with a cool funky kick to it, sweet vibe. Great strings and horn sections too. This is a tune with some huge amounts of instrumentation going on. It is not over-produced though, even with a big supporting sound underpinning the vocals. loved the whole thing, Natalie has got the chops and the song writing skills and has put out some terrific songs from what I have heard so far and You're Mysterious is a beautiful song and I am glad to have it here at music is truth ( and thanks again Natalie for filling me in on the details and concept. This is cool. I like it a lot, great ballad. That intro is compelling and a stellar guitar going on, then Muriel's very fine colorful and haunting vocals kick in, add to that those really nice harmonies on the bgs.cool
This is a really nice piece of work and love the tasty touches of those keys with the tapestry of soundscaping throughout, nice orchestral quality to them. Especially like the percussion, very there and crystal clear quality with that perfect intro as a reminder of a military dedication, clever, and those lyrics.right on Muriel.
great job all round...well produced overall. And again. great job on the singing and all those harmonies....very sweet...

Auset
The Mystic
"THE MYSTIC"......is a mind blowing experience..........
I happened to have another visit to Auset's artist page and scrolled down through the songs and my eye caught the song entitled "The Mystic" so I had to have a listen. This song captured my interest and attention immediately. The elements of Ausets soulful vocals, her fluid guitar accompaniment coupled with the tasteful bass lines and the well defined and skillful percussionist who holds it all together so well.
The songs introduction is quite appealing, with its reflective calming quality and to me is quite introspective.
The lead guitarist captures your attention with such a
sweetness of staying within the theme of the songs title with a very Mystical and elegant feel that is very smooth and at the same time piercing the very soul of my being with its own singing quality
The song embodies a skillful tapestry of lyrics and instrumentation that will have you coming back for more of this song many times over and over.."The Mystic" is an exceedingly well written and nicely produced composition. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful song here at IAC-.....bryon tosoff

Steve Ison
In My Former Lives
(one of most talented guys on the planet. should be a star!)
Steve Ison..Music...John Wragg...Lyrics....
"In My Former Lives" as I told Steve is one of my favs of his. To date I have been remiss in not including Steve Ison at Music is Truth Station prior to this, I apologize ,but I have placed a few of his other tunes on a couple of other stations and I have done some in depth reviews of them as well. When I get some time I will do a thing on who I think is in the top ten of song writers here at IAC.(he is one of them).. I may reveal my personal favs sometime down the road. ....This song has all the perfect touches. the guy is an absolute freaking genius in songcrafting. I groove on this tune daily. what a masterpiece. sweetness supreme, smooth rhythm guitar , excellent textures of E. Guitar thoughtfully woven in, well placed vox, fine shots of BGs and cool string thing...About Steve Ison and his songcrafting..This man has got such a great insight on life and reflects such in song and word . Steve has reeled in his life experiences in his many songs and like a wise fisherman, takes his best catch home and makes a beautiful musical meal. He places his creative catch and ideas here at IAC and elsewhere for all of us to appreciate and enjoy. Steve has a wellspring of percolating ideas that bubbles up from his heart, mind and soul. He then comes up with something so absolutely magnificent and breath-taking. He works with the mastery and skill as that of an architect who sees something in his mind he wants to create and lays out a plan to build that musical building. Then like a magician he creates this mystical and insanely cool tune and captures your soul and being with this incredible lyrical content which is sweet indeed. Amazing musicianship , top notch production skills and overall crafty songwriting skills. I love this song and welcome Steve Ison to music is truth ...bryon tosoff

Swan
Soaring and elegant, supremely beautiful and compelling,
and it is even more then that. There is genius in the song, as the soaring string section carries and supports this magnificent composition. Underpinning it is the undulating bass line with its driving dynamics.Along with the fine bass part, it is partnered nicely with its percussive mate offering up some wonderful rhythmic qualities. Lets not forget some of those tasty touches of the rhythm guitar as it is in the distance barely there but offers itself nonetheless, near the end the acoustic guitar strumming completes the odyssey of this epic journey the song takes you on. The haunting vocals offer up a hopeful quality, yet at the same time there is sadness or perhaps more a longing, a call for understanding and love, this is for that soul longing for something special, yet seems beyond their grasp. For me anyways that is what I glean from this amazing offering...
For me, this song is reflective of the great composers of the past with huge doses of the classical stylings with the full string section and well thought out progression coupled with a exquisite melody line. This will indeed soar to the top of the charts quickly.

Dancing Into The Truth
this was one tune I remember from early last year., one of my fav tunes on iacmusic. It was a song that resonated with me immediately and added last year as I stumbled upon it and
and it disappeared after a few months, but the thing that got me into it was the whole feel and the unique and totally inviting vocals of Jilly's, this redo has raised the bar and it is truly a magical song that should be on commercial radio. It has some serious upside and huge potential, at least that is what I think .total genius in the lyrics and a sweet cool groove. really one of my all time favs here. So congrats to Scott and Jilly for a solid and seriously strong piece of work. incredibly well produced.,tight as hell, nice change-ups with a real solid bridge and fine touches of guitar ,nice organ patch just sitting there in the back , excellent percussion and a cool rhythm guitar thing too. great feel.well done.. great job. love it

This is Some kinda funky R&B soul that is fused with great energy and fantastic colorful textures. The tune has a Superb flow, nice hooks and a sweet feel on the BGs too. She given us a great track on this one, the whole song is nicely arranged, well produced and the musicianship is incomparable, and with Nat holding it all together with her world class vocals, this is one fine piece of work. There are some great sounds happening with the backing band. talk about a great feel and vibe, she has some Serious Soaring vocals going too. This one has hit written all over it, totally. John Pippus
Le Cadre Photo
Le Cadre Photo (Blurry Photograph) is beautiful rendition of a John Pippus composition which has been translated and sung so eloquently and superbly by Chrystelle Nammour. Subtle and elegant guitar fingerstyle picking provides lovely support for the wonderful voice of Chrystelle. This song should be on more stations ,but perhaps now with this boost at music is truth it will take some more notice and get the respect that is due. It is a supremely beautiful work which in French is so sweet.
John's songs are full of depth and his lyrics are profound and filled with insight and understanding few can put into such words as he does. well done John for having someone else take your song and make it even more special, what an honor.

After a Rain
Tom pulls down a incredible piece of work on "after a rain".
The intro has a really neat rhythmic quality to it and the fine touches of bass and a little tad of percussion adds to the flavor of the song. Other nice aspects of the song I liked as I listened through it a few times was that it was textured with some fine bgs going in there too and returns with the same idea numerous times throughout the presentation. After a Rain is just a real quality song sprinkled with well appointed lyrical content and his ability to capture that mellow and almost serene falling rain in the song certainly was reflecting a gentleness in a way. Also the flute solo was really a nice idea, and then later he throws down a short edgy guitar thing that was in stark contrast to the sweetness of the flute, kinda interesting there. Tom definitely captured the mood of this rain idea and embellished it so well with the finger style picking that evoked kinda that rain type feel.

Cheryl Hodge
Guide to Recovery
Sweet and very cool
This is a grooving jazz tune in the true sense of the word. It is a rare find indeed when musicians of this caliber are able to collab and produce such a stellar piece of work. This song is likened to a well seasoned and mature scotch whiskey, so smooth with a classy aroma of sorts that when you hear it it is like a sip of that good stuff that kicks a bit too, then takes you on a journey of appreciation,. That is what this song does for me, and Cheryl's skillful songwriting and lyrics are superb. There is well appointed instrumentation at just the right place and what really is noticeable are those short bursts of silence, Cheryl understands the importance of this and has the occasional slight breaths of silence and these important elements are of a seasoned songwriting veteran. Cheryl knows how to capture your attention with just enough solo work here and there and to top it off is a lady who has a seriously cool voice that is somewhat cheeky in this song and flirtatious as well. I don't want to go and use the much used soulful and sultry des-cription , but i will because she has all of that as well. This is a superb well thought out composition that reflects a insightful grasp on the jazz idiom in all aspects of the word jazz. rhythmic and fluid, mellow and punchy all at the same time..That is the truth of jazz and what it is all about. Jazz Music is sometimes called complicated and hard to understand by some, but Cheryl has provided a way to break down that old adage and paves a way to a new and fresh approach to the jazz scene with her singing, playing and writing
A important voice in the jazz genre

Tonight
Powerful song with a message of what that first love can do to ya.
Big production, lots of soundscaping throughout and some fine vocals as well..Some well thought out lyrical content of course, and a really cool progression with a solid bridge too. This song takes you on more then a journey. It is a happening piece and a feel good tune that should go places here at iac and anywhere for that matter. Some highlights about the composition that grabbed me is that there is a nice guitar line that is short and tastefully done and it is also intertwined with a beautiful string accompaniment..This is kinda of a cool hook that reappears at the intro and here and there that threads the song altogether. The song is a well woven tapestry of sorts that is full of color and really cool tones that just makes you listen over and over......

Again Dick throws down something special, maybe one of his best works to date. I have listened to just about everything Dick has put up here at iacmusic and his depth and breadth of musicianship is second to none. And this song got me right off from the start with that intro, real solid, captures your attention indeed and some fine guitar picking too.In using that bass line here and there is a good complement to the rest of the instrumentation as it projects such a resonating rich quality, it grabs yah,.that is a piece of genius using the bass line as a melodic curve so to speak. Not only is Dick a superb musician himself, he surrounds himself with a strong cast of supporting skilled players to produce this work.

Jesse Adams
Home (ft. Nils Rurack)
This instrumental is quite unique as it captures a more ambient quality at the beginning with some amazingly beautiful guitar work which dovetails nicely a little later with the percussion. As it flows further it picks up that rhythmic comping of the guitar supporting the seriously superb and stellar lead guitar playing which now has evolved into a more raunchy tinge of colour and with fiery fluid playing in the pocket grooves, supporting this is a sweet patch of a "hammond style" organ riffs that is subtle and just there enough. As it moves further a slower tempo happens and transition occurs before an explosion of power and dynamics takes the song in a whole other direction . There are some pretty cool layers of textured sounds as Jesse captures and evokes the moments of the past but ultimately stays with in that hard rocking genre but eventually translates into a more heavier groove that he is more noted for here at IAC
The song is a well thought out composition that displays his innate natural songwriting abilities, that of creativity and experimenting with various ideas that being stretching the limits of what we would normally expect of rock or hard rock
This is more at a rock symphony and has a good number of movements which would be found more predominantly in the classical genre.

Ravestar
AWAKE ALL NIGHT!
A solid rhythmic tune that captures you and takes you on a trip of sorts as you fly to other places. It has a pretty cool guitar hook riff after "time standing still",and "demons inside" and other places and it also has a nice lead thing here and there that is appealing. Great vocals going on, quite like the singing a lot as there is a hopeful longing and surreal quality to ravestars vox as he moves through the universe on his dreamy spacey tripping out improvisation during intermission. A long song. IF it ever got down to 3-4 short minutes or so it could do well on college radio , I rather like how you come around back to the title near the end of the song around the 4:17 mark in singing awake all night cant stop all the demons inside...good place to fade out. I think this could be a good college radio tune and has potential.....good hook and real fine lyrics, kinda a quasi industrial feel but with a lighter touch and alternative twist and a heart of folk pumping it . very good

Richard Scotti
BROTHER JOHN
This is a gripping piece of work composed by Richard Scotti and who also provided the instrumentation He worked closely with the vocalist Rich Mendoza. Richard Scotti is a polished musician, performer and songwriter and he has given us a top drawer performance on this gem
I have listened thousands of songs , or perhaps tens upon multiple thousands and nearing 100000 listens over the years and this is right up there with some of the best written material I have heard. I am not just saying that to make Richard look like a god of music but this is a cool track! I have heard many good and excellent music makers -writers here at iac such as Steve Ison, Natalie Brown and many others and i have been fortunate to be around pro musicians I have performed with and played some great material. As well I have promoted many gifted artists and I have to admit this song and Richard is one who stands head and shoulders above many of them. I would say top ten here at IAC and top 40 of all I think are world class here at IAC those I have performed with and promoted
I am not saying the other artists are not talented, gifted or capable, but there is always that song that sparkles brightly and it is the song that is really more important then the musician. Classic style rock and roll that hearkens back to the 70's. great feel,. flow and strong lyrical content, well appointed instrumentation and just an overall well produced song. To top it off are the vocals of Rich Mendoza gives me a kinda a Trooper lead singer feel on this one ie RA MAGUIRE.....I dont know if anyone knows Trooper, but they did Bright White Sports Car
General Hand Grenade We're here for a good time not a long time and Raise a Little hell
anyways, Rich Mendoza has the classic 70's style vocal quality that is edgy and yet compelling and very listenable
I really liked the progression, the sting ,hook and bridge
just one hell of a incredible piece of work

THE BOOK OF ME
A nice piece of work. Wrote up a review at SMASH.....
way to go there you two, the sound and style reminds me of the Wilson sisters from HEART, what you all think about that !
You girls must be wonderfully thankful for all the help from those fine musicians who assisted you on this fine tune whoever they are. Great all round recording. real retro classic rock style.
Ok here is who were involved in this recording. WOW. one musician and singer I am definitely impressed................................Ethan Dorrance: Music & Mix....
Anne Cozean: Lyrics & Vocals.....
Ethan Dorrance plays guitar, bass, and drums. He offered this up, and it could not be denied.

Good Morning Heartache
A superb song that was originally made famous by one of the all time great jazz singers, Billie Holiday.......
Denise pulls this one off with such elegance and gives a heartfelt rendition in a song of loss and hurt, but as always there are answers, she tells you how at the end of the song
Full review at Cup of Joe...Well done Denise.....

Love When I Can
A special precious voice of love and song that begins meandering through your soul like a warm summer breeze telling a story, that is real, that is hopeful and wants to be understood. This is Music that sends a signal ,sends a message, sends a hopeful thought or two. just spending some time with me, sometimes with you, just a little bit of your time but then I like being who I am too you know. sometimes doing what I need to, trying to figure out things, like life, it is like that sometimes, like holding out a lit candle that flickers here and there in a dark room..casting some shadowy patterns ,just cant quite make out what they are, , they are always moving changing, as we all do,its hard to make out those things I need to do sometimes. sometimes in darkness hope seems lost, love is something to treat carefully ,so I be how I am , I break easy.........bryon
