Conversation Suicide
In His Head
SMASH says"
If I was wanting to be in a band, I would pick
"Conversation Suicide" as my first choice. They pull out a bag of tricks to keep the listener locked in to their songs They incorporate variety of methods to achieve this. It is the unique intro of a baby whimpering with guitar instrumentation. Shortly Afterwards they begin to render a combination of that bit of chat talk and begin a wailing and singing away and start delivering a heavy thrash of smashing out metal of killer proportions in the middle of the song
This is a ripping peice of genius and well produced too.
I want to see them live, to experience the whole act is necessary to totally appreciate this kind of music and show

Time in A Bottle
Shredding and ripping it up and out Phlegm ,way cool.okay shades of kurt cobain are in your vocals somewhat to me anyways, trying to place who else the vox sound like....nice change up to break up the intensity and driving dynamics in the mid part of the tune, this is where i really feel that grunge w. coast crunk of the early 90's spill out , that was a clever move. yes indeed, there is lots of rocking, ripping, raucous rebel like energy emanating throughout the song..sex pistols perhaps anyways rock and..grind it out dude,RAWK

Crucifixion
SMASH says: I Love it. A Top rated 5 star performance. One of the best songs out there anywhere!
Alex has given us something special here.
This song has some major bullocks happening,it kicks you in the head guts and nuts and that should put the Hard rocking World on notice that there is a Hard Rocking women who is on top of her game here and can kick it out better then anyone, bar none. I dont think Avril has this much edge
Alex Bach delivers a powerful performance on Crucifixion and the message is intense and ripping
She has a terrific energy which is nonstop
The Musicianship and Instrumentation which supports the whole of the parts is breath-taking. Tight and Right
Crucifixion is brilliant and Alex is the Real Deal.

TSC puts down one fine track here on this tune...I really like the the pushes on this one and it offers up some real good listening and that guitar ripping out is impressive and that good old straight ahead pounding out rock with a heavy laden kick to the head is sure appreciated. Crisp intro and start , bang right into it they go and nice touch with that on fire guitar intro as well...solid and really well defined
I dont usually go into negatives here.just occasionally and in this song I would have liked to have had heard the vocals up more and with better clarity and definition. So with that being said it still is a very cool song and listened to it numerous times as i wrote this..thanks guys, appreciated the energy and dynamics ,well done......will check out more in the future..bryon

Fyrefly
Never Over
SMASH says: Fyrefly provides a gem of a song with
Never Over.
THE INTRO: the song starts quietly with a sorta subtle undulating intro that has a nice acoustic guitar and quiet vocals. The the siren of a vocalist draws you into their seductive arms like sailors of yore and you then are hooked
Fyrefly then start Launching into a big smack of guitar and offer up some cool bitchy caustic vocals and weeave back and forth from an energetic fat chorus with huge soundscapes of percussion and guitar raining down like hailstones from hell( if that is possible)I really think the intro and ending offer some unique qualities with their quiet lingering of softness and ends with a very interesting touch of unison singing
Great arrangement, well produced.

Submission is a Canadian Heavy Metal Rocking Band based in Vancouver BC
They are a group that offers up some exhilirating and superb heavy duty rocking tunes. The song I have chosen to critique is "Watchman" The song provides us with an insight of their insightful writing abilites and amazing melodic approach.
This song is a fabulous peice of work. With great harmonies and slamming rhythmic driving guitar slathered with huge percussion shots. What a magnficient production. This is a well crafted song with great vocals , from a quiet edgy subdued approach at the begining of the song to that of a raunchiness that is gripping and ripping.
The intro is superb,it starts with a quiet energy that builds into a rock symphony of gigantic proportions.
I hope that I can have the opportunity to see them in concert sometime soon to experience the phenom musicians and take in the energy they deliver ,

Farewell
Heavy Bombs of intensity and driving rhythm. Obviously its Loud dynamic and this one is pretty much on the root throughout with a bit of variation at times but a typical grinding out metal with the usual vox that is reflective of the style of the genre that some metal hardcore bands are leaning towards, that being indecipherable most times with an edgy gritty vocal cord shredding grunge. If Jim Morrison were still kicking or started a band , he would definitely be into this stuff for sure....almost meets the quality of the European heavy metal bands but still a ways to go before I give them a two thumbs up. But fun to listen too first thing in the morning. like a kick in the head

THE BOOK OF ME
This is a very cool tune. Goes from an acoustic flavor mixed with a nice vocal thing and also has great guitar kicking out. Goes pretty big so this grooving tune is living here
These girls got some cool things going on, love the mix of acoustic and electric and big percussion and driving rock happening in various parts of the song. That intro with the guitar and the ladies vocals moving up in an eastern style is very effective , a nice composition, I thought it was well put together. Some great help on the instrumentation a serious cool recording, fine musicianship. I also heard some eastern style flavor happening at the intro and reprise on those sweet vocals ascending up and down. And Lyrics were beautiful girls. You have something special going on.

Back From Ashes
The Suffering Within
What I liked about this song was how "Back from Ashes" carefully planned out the introduction as they start it off with a very cool acoustic guitar lead in with a light and laid back vocal intro then SLAM you get it in the Gut, Away they blast with those monster powerful Riffs that cut you to pieces and knock you off your seat. , it is a song that has a huge velocity of dynamics and some sweeping chordal change-ups and also some tastefully placed lead guitar. I especially liked the use of the vocal intensity and transitions, that was special. The two singers er, or should I say one that has a real singers voice and one that is slightly demented and possessed and dishes out some relentless bursts of killer vocal craziness. Actually great work there to this fellow who gives a terrific performance and really provides great support and an edge that sets this song at the top of this genre of music style
In order to fully appreciate this song you have to Listen to this song more then once or twice, try at least 4-5 times, it gets better with each listen. There is some monstrous percussive work on this ripping tune and the musicians deliver a tremendous piece of work. The length of the song is just perfect..
the intro is nicely timed and there is just enough subtle parts of the song in order to avoid the blasting of the eardrums into oblivion . They are good at their craft and have put down a solid piece of work on this one.
Top notch production, superb engineering and just a well put together heavy duty kicking mosh pit type of song that you want to throw yourself into. Great job all around. Intense and enjoyable.........but to really appreciate this type of group LIVE is the thing,. so with that being said lets look for them in your city soon.. oh one more thing folks,.the ending. it is quick and deadly.....

Great start with a sweet hook that holds the song together so well, working it well in the tune..I like the melodic and rhythmic patterns that are offered up..fine vocals . well put together song.....and that groovin bass line....solid percussion. nice balance on the instrumentation and so well produced and that stellar guitar work -kicks out sweetness -bryon

The Burning Primitive
She Loves No One
Smash says: Even though this song has been around for some time it deserves another go around for The Burning Primitive who hail from Denmark where the Gods of heavy metal reside these days, Scandanavia. It seems that that is where this type of music has been re-invented.
First off this is a extremely well produced song. "She Loves No One" captures the essence of a quality heavy metal rock tune.
Whoever got the ball rolling and penned this tune displays a very clever mind and way with words. Integrated with the clever lyrics is a well crafted composition.
The INTRO
The song begins with some intriquing guitar picking and a very cool bass line, This captures your attention and your expectations are that you better hold on before they power it out, and that is exactly what happens
The Burning Primitive then pull out the heavy artillery and blast away with a well balanced attack of vocals, percussion and instrumentation. What I really enjoyed is how the song moves into some quiet moments here and there as the band transitions from those compelling power chords and vocals
Their musicianship is stellar and I would certainly like to see more of their material up at IAC
Smash says: give us more!
