Moodswing Baby
So Right off the bat it was that banjo thing going and I thought, nice,a good ole folkin' country style tune with an easy going laid back feel, and then Jilly's voice flows out and captures you with her magical sweet voice like no other there is, that is for sure. Mellow, Sweet and a Refreshing listen and lovely song, you know that "Mood Swing Baby" is a great hook!, nicely done there,it jumps out nicely and you actually could find yourself singing along here for sure, nice melody line. And you know there is just enough instrumentation with the vocals right there and added here and there were the harmonies that Scott provided. Loved the song and listened to the tune numerous times and enjoyed it immensely. Well done Jilly and Scott. added to station 8/9/2009 7:23:30 PM

I'll be next to nothing
A thoughtful, introspective and reflective look at the way we get sometimes when we long and linger for the one we love, or thought we did. The lyrics are nicely placed and this tune is well sung and Michelle captures completely the hurt it leaves in our heart and soul when that special person we thought was our friend and lover is in someone else's arms and life... Michelle gives a real heartfelt and wonderful delivery on this true to form country tune in the way they used to be produced like way back in the day. A wonderful song and lovely country ballad indeed. This could be on terrestrial radio but given the fact new country rock has surfaced and rules the landscape it is more then likely doubtful, but not to take anything away from the quality or the song, it is just the way it is out there in radioland.Lovely piece of work.well done added to station 8/11/2009 4:13:28 PM

I should have had Bob up on numerous stations ages ago. I dont know why I Neglected to listen in on his material and missed out, but hopefully can listen many times to all his works to fully appreciate and gather in his incredible musicianship and lyrical gems that are glittering throughout his artist page here This one jumped right out, the fine finger style guitar picking is just so wonderful to listen to, even that is in itself is enough to make this song stand out,. but then his vocals come at you and the story he relates engages your mind and challenges you to listen. This song is Evocative, spell binding and thought provoking...I have to go back and read those lyrics again and listen to the song many more times to really grasp what is going on...i sure enjoyed the song....This is pretty cool stuff By the Way Bob. Into the storms is a song for all of us, who are but sojourners, wanderers perhaps truth seekers who are walking sometimes into the unknown and challenges of life which for the most part is good, but sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control. Luisa
Maeve and her song Luisa is certainly a sweet elegant tune. It is very reflective, somewhat hopeful yet at times it has a longing and to it and Maeve captures the essence of what she intended, as it is a very moving composition. A lyrical piano part of broken chords is effectively textured into the theme, a nice light guitar accompaniment is just slightly noticeable supporting the song and a lovely cello, viola ? is evident in a complimentary way to offer up the support for Maeve vocals. the use of the stringed instrument was almost as if another singer was there Maeve's singing was light, airy and the vocals she provided had a nice tonal color as well as she captured the quality of feeling and emotions in the song. Cool Acoustic guitar a happening, nice texturing there, percussion was intriguing, nice work with the rhythmic craziness on that..challenging indeed. Poor Billy
Sct. Christopher
Karsten Olesen: Vocal ..Peter Sandegaard: Banjo, dobro, backing vocal... Jesper Holt Andersen: Bass , backing vocal... Søren Poulsen: Drums .. A real down to earth tripping out tune with a terrfic hook line going on....this song is a reality check of sorts and the truth of the matter is brought home with "it is a mystery that I am here". Great dobro in there too and a fine bass keeping it all in the pocket of course and with some real happy plunking banjo just a guiding it all along throughout the song so steady and with a fine groove all its own, which I loved hearing . There is also a Big Dog of a drumming a happening and a plodding along and singing this song with a edge is Karsten Olesen who offers up his take on his personal experiences and worldly wonders he has taken in, Yup a real up and coming type of Tom Waits is this Karsten Olesen and well he has put it all into a superb song that is one that I think should be out there in the world preaching his gospel of truth. truth and reality. added to station 2/14/2009 8:06:34 PM

Love When I Can
Voice and song meandering through your soul like a warm summer breeze. Music that sends a signal ,sends a message sends a hopeful thought or two. holds out a lite candle that flickers here and there...shadowy patterns are cast as you walk with it in your life, sometimes in darkness hope seems lost, love is something to treat carefully ,be how I am , I break easy......... added to station 2/5/2009 3:29:46 PM

edge of the world (dying is fine)
Another pretty fine tune by nowhereman who gives his view of what life is about..cool hooks here and there are going on .."I dont mind .....into the world" dying is fine...kinda a little retro feel on the guitar playing is fitting. somewhat haunting of course given the title and keeps you trying to reach in and get in the artists head and what prompted him to come up with such a crafty title..nice one... edge of the world ( dying is fine) but it started to make sense as I listened a few more times,,,I really liked "The more you live the more you die", that is possible...I guess . there are musical patterns and reflective picturesque words and thoughts which are scattered throughout the song, so please listen to appreciate the song. and lean into the speakers or listen hard with the phones one....because the vocals are swallowed up to some degree. But perhaps intentionally done so, and then you will find out the truth of what is in the song..Oh the mystery of life, the mystical quality as we walk travel in time, like a breeze that swirls about you and then you look and see your own humanity, are you standing still ,while you are moving forward. or is it the otherway around .time and space time and space , where are you standing? , ...so I bid thee all a good night , It is late and I am now crashing great tune /... added to station 2/5/2009 6:09:49 AM

Only For You (Theme for The White Stoned Cowboy)
What a riot of sounds ,an euphonious of wonderful unique and interesting sounds, a wizardry of creativity, a masterpiece of craziness. I see it now a rider in the sky coming down and jumping on a saxa phonic instrument and mutant blows of wackiness ensue and then the horse he owns hobbles down the cobblestones clopping and hopping hipping and a bopping to the happiness of the Stoned and happy cowboy who is heading home after a night on the town Does this make any sense at all , i did have a few tonight. hahahahaha whoooooooooo added to station 2/13/2009 4:53:41 AM

Time For Us To Run
One fine tune, deceiving at intro though, which is good. I thought it was just a man and his friendly guitar. then those big dog of drums come in roaming around for a bit lurking and punching out a big sloppy drink spilling out a pretty cool feel to the tune. A yearning hopeful vocal calls out and gives you a good feeling....then that harmonica chirps in and brings it home for a rest...chick a boom a clomp and boom chucka boom goes the drums as we walk away, run away leave this old place , little tickles of piano way off in the distance gives a sense of longing to me anyways , great tune, fitting arrangement works well. nice one added to station 2/12/2009 10:02:12 PM

Keepers of the Truth
"Keepers of the Truth"-A great title and a poignant one too. Otis and the Professors have touched on a subject that obviously affects us all individually one time or more during the course of our life and this type of thing has been going on during the course of mankind's sojourning on this earth since time immemorial... Yes, there are liars, cheats, frauds and those who manipulate the financial system and the governments for their own personal benefit and create havoc for the many...This is nothing new, and it will never change. Queen Of Hearts (collabro Steve Ison)
What can I say folks , it all has been said before about Steve Ison ( melody, vocal, production, guitar ) and his collaborator Steve April (lyrics and production) They have an innate and creative synergy that is second to none as a songwriting tandem. So they made a beautiful song about a particular historical event and viola there it is. What a magic formula they do have, ,I am sure there is something hidden in their cupboards at home that produce such magical sounds..What a cool descending melodic guitar line there by Mark Stein (piano as well) and wonderful placed fingerstyle picking too! and S.I you have some truly gripping vocals happening ,nice work here, I love the progression and the touches on the piano, sweetness indeed, How do they do it? Well, I think they Mixed in some shakes of the passion they have for music they do , then after wards they added a pinch of inspiration, and then topped it off with a dash or two of spontaneity and of course sprinkled it all with the love and joy of just making something special come alive in the music itself////cool piece..pretty decent production,.fine musicianship and overall just a fun song to listen to........ bryon added to station 1/14/2009 4:28:34 PM

If I Met You Again
Magical, inviting and reflective, perhaps even serene in places but punched up with some upbeat energetic kicking jump here and there..... This song is skillfully developed with strong lyrics and fluid chord progressions, which I might add are nicely voiced out or perhaps well shaped would better describe them.. What places this song in a class by itself are the well placed quieter moments. Other aspects that add to the strength of the song are those touches of strings and it is topped off with the fine acoustic guitar which is keeping that rhythm going oh so well, in conjunction is the well timed E. guitar shots....In closing I have to mention the fine work on the part of the song that holds it all together is the percussion and bass which is the heart of any top notch song.. Oh i cannot forget Steve's Vocals ,they are amazing and I would consider even at world class quality, his singing is so nice to listen to... Indeed the song has proven the test of time here at IAC. welcome to what the folk! Steve. added to station 1/11/2009 10:39:36 PM

Sweet vocals that is for sure. Some fine work throughout in every aspect of this song. I particularly liked the intro, well crafted. Nice transition into the bridge.love the progressions . superb arrangement ,top notch production, love the percussion.great work there, Just enough instrumentation to make this song stand out and support Auset on her wonderful presentation of this song which reaches out and truly impacts the listener, and that haunting steel , very nice indeed Beautifully performed by a gifted singer and backing band........ (ps everytime I listen to this song it blows me away, it is addictive, captivating and has a appeal that is difficult to put into words, that is the power of music and how it can move our spirits to laugh cry and celebrate. I certainly am in awe of Auset's skilled guitar playing and that killer steel playing, What a fine beautiful melody line in between those wonderful vocals, I could go on and laud this song and the artists even more, but need to listen more : thanks Auset for such a heartfelt song and sharing it with us.!!!!) added to station 12/16/2008 10:19:15 PM

We Go On and On
Marc has a amazing catalog of songs which are well worth listening too. I found this one riveting..Can I say that again riveting and gripping, sure thing I can, it captured my attention with its interesting conceptual approach to his ideas , have we lived before, are we being regenerated over and over until we get it right and then proceed to that higher plane of spiritual beings...Can I surmise that he is reflecting on a higher power that somehow has a hand in our lives here and there throughout our sojourn on earth He lays it down with some introspective and interesting thoughts which are well delivered. Just where are we in this part of our human experience. Are we in the Beginning, in the Middle, or near the Ending of our current calling here during our walk on the face of the earth. Love the melodic qualities that are offered up here in this very fine song. I enjoyed the idea of the seemingly improvisational components that are working on the root of the song. These are layered quite nicely and then the very subtle transitions to the bridge and it once again returns again to the head of the song, with a few more fine progressions and modulations that keep you locked into the journey of the song. Unique and some great listening for sure I envision myself as a sojourner a wandering nowhere special but find myself seeking and finding truth in all the many forms of music that is offered here on IAC, I appreciate the fine musicianship and ideas offered in this composition, Great job and here is a special place for your song offered up on What the Folk added to station 12/9/2008 8:11:29 PM
