The genesis of this music started in 1988 when their sister/daughter Katrina was killed, at age 16, in a motor vehicle accident. Jake was 15 and Leo was 9. Music was a huge part of the grieving process, and many songs were written. Rob was already a musician in a duo with his bass player Hannibal, playing at weddings, gala days and festivals as a two piece. Jake had just bought his first guitar and started playing with them as lead guitarist. After Katrina’s death the whole family moved to Perth Australia and drove from there across the Nullabor to Sydney, camping out under the stars and trying to make sense of the tragedy.

We got into music at first largely as a way to transform some personal tragedies into art, a personal expression that could help deal with the pain. We started writing this songs lyrics after hearing some sirens fly by our apartment and wanted to capture how we felt for the people who's lives would be most affected by wherever those sirens were headed. A little while later we were at the grocery store. Otis was joking with the checkout girl about a smiley face he had drawn on the electronic signature. After joking the girl began to shake and fell to the ground with a seizure. Her heart and breathing stopped until a doctor in line resuscitated her. We went home and immediately finished this song about personal tragedy and the way it intersects all out lives.

I was lucky enough to get some help from my friends on some of these songs, including my uncles Paul and Mark Graninger, C.F. Truman, Sam (The Man With No Band), and my brother-in-law Eric Chandler the man of a thousand instruments (mandolin, mandola, banjo mandolin, 4-string banjo, ukelele, guitar, etc). The rest is just me, a guitar, and a harmonica here and there.

We sat in a circle in our very small living room, direct mic'd the steel and bass and threw a simple room mic up. The crickets outside were SO loud, we decided to open the windows and invite them in.... not flawless, but we feel it was very magical what happened in the living room that summer evening.

Most of the songs here are recorded in pips trailer just guitar, mandolin, tin can, and pip & merry, we sing live so these songs are not perfect but what is, love to you all. pip & merry. These songs bring refreshing depth and unaffected sincerity to their music. I hear elements of the Everley Brothers, deep blue ridge that never heard of Nashville, and some of what I will call "poor white gospel" (old smoky mountain church music). It is all relaxing, thoughtful, and wistful ...staggerlee .... POWERFUL SONGS A TREAT TO OLD & YOUNG EARS.

At school she played the flute and read music. She taught herself to play the guitar and the electric organ and loved to sing. She spent hours practicing her singing notes.
She started collaborating with other musicians on the internet at various music collaboration sites in 2003. She wrote all her own lyrics and used Cubase for AppleMac for recording her vocals and did all her recording in the dining room or kitchen of her house.

Founding member, Titania, has been playing musical instruments since the early 1980's where a love affair with analog synthesizers began in her high school music room in 1984. She would frequently skip maths classes to spend time in the school recording studio creating soundscapes with an Akai reel to reel and a Roland Juno 6 synthesizer.
Titania now plays keyboards, piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, trumpet and a few instruments you may not have heard of!! and is an experienced sound engineer. SuperPuss music is created entirely in Titania's studio from song writing to final mastering with the occasional guest appearance on some tracks made by her numerous friends and contacts in the music industry

Hop On Pop was four friends, brought together by Todd Leiter-Weintraub to record an album full of his original compositions. That album, As Drawn By Ethan, Age 2, was released in April, 2004 on Spade Kitty Records. The album received positive reviews and achieved relatively modest sales.
The band splintered in August, 2007, leaving Leiter-Weintraub alone... all by his lonesome.
