Twenty Dollars
I love this song, I put it up on a few other stations when I used to take care of the bluevoodoo's stations Back to the shack and mystic blues radio when I managed/promoted them and thought this supremely fine blues tune is coming to live at Blues Music is Truth. Just a real fine piece of grooving blues with heart and soul , Some excellent vocals happening, and that piano bluesin riffs are seriously fun to listen to. An who cant resist a mississipi sax blowing away too! So fine and so fun to listen to..Lars Mars gives it out on the blues here with love and truth and keep it real with that roots groove too!

(Summer's singing is like the Sun Shining with rays of love)
This is one of my faves of this group and as soon as I reviewed the cd I took on its promotion...It is another ripping out tune by big voiced Summer and her Sinners are a laying down the sweet groove by staying on the root. Nice work on the Lead Guitar by Dave Vidal (The Fabricators) Buddy Love Guitar Rhythm and Lead, some fine crashing powerful kicking out drumming by Paul Nixon (downchild blues band) and keeping it in the pocket is the big fat bass too. Another one of my personal favs of Summers This cd did well with fine radio play in Australia, Europe and many regional stations in the USA...

SqurlyMurly
Love Needs Water (with Ed Wells on lead guitar)
(Muriel provides some haunting and mind altering singing)
This actually is a really great piece of work. It has a sweet groove going on and perhaps it is those haunting vocals that is happening that piques my attention to the songs unique quality. Muriel's vocals are unusual ( in a good way)and at times I detect a pleading spirit asking for special help in a prayerful hopeful way, muriel captured that aspect very well and it pours out superbly. Yes it has lots of soulful bluesin' vocals and some down to earth heart felt expressive interpretation of Steve Aprils lyrical content. Very well written and put together, cool progressions indeed. Muriel kicks it out nicely and you can feel the loving in ."Love needs Water"..Nice hook line there Steve and also very fine production of the song. I will add that there is superb musicianship by all with some finely woven instrumentation throughout and also to top it all off is the stellar Lead Guitar performance by Ed Wells, fine chops my man....nice to have Muriel show up and give it here at my new station..........BLUES MUSIC IS TRUTH.....bryon t.

Auset
In the Middle of the End
Alright, this song caught me quite off guard when I first listened to it at Anjuli's Golden Streams (now no longer here ). It is listed as folk americana, but there are some fine elements of blues modes a tickling the song in there too, so that is why she is going to live here with DirgeK and Larree and the BlueVoodoo. How good of a songwriter-lyricist is Auset. Well it can be said for one that she has such a solid grasp on her own humanity that she is able to offer up some of the finest works I have ever heard, and I have listened to a lot of music in my life and performed with some incredible bands and luminaries. Some of her life experiences are well documented here at IAC which are reflected in her compositions.I am sure some are inspired too, but I am positive her elements of songwriting skills are drawn from her personal connections to time chance and circumstances and challenging situations. Rather then doing a full review on the song itself, I will give full on credit to the true wordsmith at IAC that being Anjuli who has done such a beautiful review already. I just would like to give kudo's to Auset and reflect on her amazing gift of songwriting. Auset is a modern day minstrel or troubadour (trobairitz) who is able to convey her thoughts into well structured poetic rhythms and fluid musical progressions and captivating melodies. She does this so exquisitely and with such eloquence too. Auset is like one who is out there walking in the wilderness on a summer day in a reflective mood and captures her thoughts with the net of her mind while she admires the beauty of life, the hope that lies within then expresses it so so well in song and word.
I just had to do this today. Cause really, that is how I feel about all of you wonderful people here at IACMUSIC who provide such magnificent works and share them with us to enjoy..thanks again to you who share the love in music

Ken Tucker
The Sun is Always Shinin’
(A passionate man that wears his heart on his sleeve)
About 3 years ago I helped out Ken Tucker with some promotions here in Canada some in Australia and Europe
As it turns out his CD Charted on the College Blues charts across Canada and received some real fine airplay in OZ and in parts of Europe too...
Ken had been burned by an unscrupulous radio promoter who took his money but did nothing for him, totally scammed out and ripped off, Well I happened to read his posting at a blues site and got in touch with him and we had some nice chats and established a game plan that suited his budget...Ken is a caring and considerate man and it is too bad other people show such disregard for artists and their hard earned money and more importantly attack the very core of their being by their heartless and reckless actions.....anyways a little story on how I helped the Man out. And as the Song says The Sun is Always Shinin' now...

Poor Mans River
A Pounding begins on my head with that big honking drum kit
and that funky plunking on the banjo kills me,superb, what a great idea to use this fine old instrument very cool groove happening here , that is keeping it in the pocket. Rootsy to the bone is this tune and those vocals they does rips the flesh right off you with the gritty monotonal vox . do your vocal chords hurt. mine do just listening.
The bass is really very complimentary supporting the whole thing, quite melodic even. so cool . Especially love the bridge "on my way" which they go do a cappela at the end of the song.this is actually one of my favs and I have put it up on a couple of other stations. What a vocal range. It is a very exciting and energy ridden cool song..So dynamic and a dynamite piece of work, what a huge talent DirgeK displayed in her works. This one is somewhat in the vein of a quasi style underground blues with a twist of funk.Definitely unique. Love the way she starts and finishes it too. Great guitar work too, well connected to DirgeK and playing off of her vocals so well, nice touches of bass scattered throughout the song , percussion was on the verge of jazz and funk all fusioned out...one of the coolest bluesin funkin jazzed out experimental songs at IAC......it is going to be one of my favs.
